A series of resurfaced tweets from Dr. Jamie R. Riley, the University of Alabama’s assistant vice president and dean of students, show he once believed the American flag and police in America are racist. “The [American flag emoji] flag represents a systemic history of racism for my people,” Riley wrote in a September 2017 tweet. “Police are a part of that system. Is it that hard to see the correlation?” (Tweet) In another 2017 tweet, Riley, who has served in the position at the University of Alabama since February of this year, claimed white people do not understand racism because “they can’t even experience racism.”

Gee, another colored guy that hates America and whites gets outed for his hatred. Wonder how long he last? Or is he the ultimate Quota that even his bigotry can't get him removed.

Whites experience racism all the time: in the movies, on T.V., at school, in the universities, in certain neighborhoods, employment, and in politics. What do you mean “they can’t even experience racism?” We get it all the time. Many times I hesitated to check “white” in job applications. Yes, we do experience racism, you moron!

This dean makes blatantly racist comments accusing others of being racist.
I thought blacks believed people should be judged by the content of their character and not the color of their skin. Was that just talk by blacks?
If blacks want a color blind society theu need to act like it.

I grew up in the 50's and early 60's, we lived in a trailer house that was 10 X 50 feet and had "three bedrooms," no way it could be called a mobile home. We moved almost every year, so I was the new kid a lot. In small town Oklahoma and Texas back then, trailer parks were often next to the freight train tracks, or across the street from the segregated neighborhood.
In one town, my Dad's foreman's daughter took extra delight in bullying me, especially in gym class...In the fifth grade, a girl I thought was a friend called me a "transient" in such a tone, I thought it meant something like rapist or murderer.
Don't tell me white women can't face discrimination and bigotry.

“My people” is inherently racist

I believe the use of the word “colored” is an extremely polite way to address an individual that hates whites and could easily be fitted with other descriptive words.

White people experience racism every time time they're mugged by blacks. Which is quite often.

Affirmative Action is inherently racist, but I guessing this guy had no problem with that!

How can so many seemingly educated people think this way and not see that the country as created has built in mechanisms to address said inequities?

When this country was founded, slavery existed—as a British institution. It continued here in some states but was not without controversy. White Americans fought and died to end slavery. If America was so racist, why didn’t it just let the South have their slaves? And there is racism against whites by blacks. Look what happened in Africa when blacks took over from white colonialist. In America, we saw black racism writ large when a majority black jury acquitted OJ Simpson of killing two white people. And who is safer, a white person walking alone in a black neighborhood or a black person walking alone in a white neighborhood. One might have the police called on him. The other might be robbed, beaten or raped. Which one is which?

He is so full of it. We whites aren't able to understand the black experience, yet this arrogant fool then proceeds to prove his own racism by telling us whites all about how we should think. Double standard/hypocrisy much Dean? Maybe if you and yours stop committing your own racism against everyone else, most of your problems will stop. It is called personal responsibility, and we are not responsible for you. You are responsible for you.

"People of Color" are entitled to their opinions, however biased, but somebody in a position to influence students should not be pitting "students of color" against whites or the police. It's racist and it's wrong. Educated blacks may use bigger words than the average racist punk on the street but that does not make them any more right. The man is not fit for the job.
