How does one know what the voting public thinks?Once upon a time, long, long ago, public opinion polls may have reflected, however faintly, some generalization of public opinion. For a multitude of reasons, that is no longer true. To demonstrate that point, compare the August 29 Rasmussen poll showing President Trump’s approval rating of 47 percent with the Quinnipiac reported approval rating of 38 percent. Even more irrational are the Quinnipiac poll result that whatever is left of Joe Biden would beat Trump 54 percent to 38 percent in a general election and the Economist poll number that asserts that 55 percent of the public

When has any poll, especially a Quinnepecac poll, been right?

The one thing that can insure our loss next year is complacency. I worry that too many of us have a sense that winning is inevitable and will just coast until election day. Confidence is great, but we need to be certain it isn't false confidence.

Does anyone remember the polls in 1948 that were such a sure thing for Dewey that newspapers published headlines saying "DEWEY WINS!". Harry Truman loved having a picture of himself holding up that paper. Shows you what over reliance on polls can do. (Or maybe you people are too young to remember that!)

Some of those Quinnipiac polls even showed Bootyjudge beating Trump. Last I heard Booty was lucky to draw even 1% of the black vote. Without the black vote he might win Vermont, but nothing else. And we're supposed to believe he would defeat Trump in a national election?!?

Get out and vote when the time comes. I'm still surprised that the demosluts won Congress in 2018. That election shows what can happen if we become complacent and assume the other guy will vote Republican.

It looks like Warren will be the Democrat nominee, and an America governed by Warren would careen toward disaster. Don’t assume she can’t win. They assumed Trump could win, and look where it got them. We need to work very hard. KAG = KTP (Keep Trump President).

There are a large number of registered democrats who were born before both ''squad'' contaminated the party, and before the deranged presidential candidates rushed wildly to the left. They are horrified, disappointed, and disgusted with the party they are registered with. Same with independents who tended to vote more with democrats. Many of them voted for President Trump. Have the democrats done anything to bring them back? Free stuff appeals more to the snowflakes, who have not earned their own living yet.
Then, there is the thing about the significant number of minorities moving to President Trump. They are seeing the democrats for what they are: race hustlers who make big promises but never follow through. They are tired of being pandered to and taken for granted. In the past few years their lives have finally began improving under President Trump. They are not as dumb as the democrats think they are. They understand what socialism would do for them.
I am very optimistic, and I agree that we must not get complacent.

"It looks as if President Trump will do even better than 2016."
The author is early but spot-on. In 2016 the democrats had a candidate who had them all bamboozled, a lady with thirty years of government experience who was going to smash through the glass ceiling and pound Donald Trump into the ground. The only thing she smashed was a big-screen TV with an empty champagne bottle. The democrats have nobody running in 2020 that has a remote chance of beating Donald Trump. They can't even produce an adult with any kind of workable plan. The leftist fringe will make a lot of noise but flyover country Americans will save the day.

I won't believe it till it happens. Do not kid yourself. The true power behind the DNC will use every trick and then some to win. They work every angle and have already started the game plan to steal crucial states like PA. 40,000 votes is not that hard to swing in a state with Philly and Pittsburgh under DNC control and with decades of zero voter fraud oversight. You will never see another election like this one. I would not be surprised by anything that happens or by anything that is attempted. If Leftest forces can install a fake puppet for two terms, who presented vital documents that were obvious forgeries, and prevent any serious investigation or push back on that, don't be surprised at what other crimes might be in our future.
President Trump has few inside the Beltway allies and few RNC veterans who will work hard for him. A lot of those 'pros' are happy to pretend to be the opposition when Rats are in power, but in reality are part of the game of feeding at the same taxpayer trough.
