The venomous mangrove snake that escaped its enclosure at the Bronx Zoo was still loose Tuesday — marking a week since it went on the lam.The 3-foot, tree-climbing serpent got free from its Jungle World exhibit Aug. 6 — when zoo officials claim it escaped via a mesh-covered vent in its glass case — and was still nowhere to be found Tuesday. Concerned guests were assured it was still safe to go inside Jungle World, with one ticket vendor even joking to several scared children: “If you see him, let us know!”

The reason they can’t find the snake is because she got elected to Congress.

This species is not to be trifled with. They should shut down the section and conduct a search but that costs money.

This week, the American Civil Liberties Union raged against a civil rights policy that has already been law for decades. It would be funny, except it misleads people who trust organizations like the ACLU for accurate information. That is wrong. On Tuesday the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) announced a straightforward proposed regulation that should be noncontroversial. This regulation simply clarifies that, when religious employers contract with the federal government, they retain the right to hire employees who support their religious missions—just as they do for all other hires under the federal Civil Rights Act of 1964. For more than 50 years,

It's the dreaded "inverted Treasury yields" and Chicken Littles in the financial industry are all of a sudden issuing dire warnings of a coming recession. What in God's name is an "inverted Treasury yield"? Yields on two-year and 10-year Treasury notes inverted early Wednesday, a market phenomenon that shows investors want more in return for short-term government bonds than they are for long-term bonds. It's the first time that has happened since the Great Recession and it can be an indication that investors have lost faith in the soundness

Former Vice President Joe Biden, in December 2018, said, "I am a gaffe machine." File that under the category of truer words have seldom been spoken. President Donald Trump benefited in the 2016 presidential contest because the unfavorable numbers of his opponent, Hillary Clinton, matched or exceeded Trump's own unfavorable numbers. This time, in his bid for reelection, Trump's opponent could be Biden -- at this early date, still the front-runner for his party's nomination. Trump, of course, has been harshly attacked by Democrats, the media and even some Republicans for misstatements, exaggerations

July spending more than doubled expectations.July results were +0.7 percent, against the economic forecast of +.03 percent. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez offered her opinion on whether President Trump's supporters are racist during an interview with Crooked Media's Pod Save America podcast. "First of all, the biggest mistake that we have — and it's a trap that gets set by the Right, whether intentionally or unintentionally — is just the frame of asking, 'Is blank racist?'" the New York Democrat explained, arguing the conversation needs to be about racism itself, not the people who ascribe to it. "Like all winning political phenomena ... they rely on coalition building," she continued.

When it was first reported that pedophile billionaire Jeffrey Epstein had died in a maximum-security prison, supposedly by suicide, the Internet was immediately ablaze with conspiracy theories. That's not so strange considering that several people had warned beforehand that Epstein had dirt on many important people; people who would be well served by his untimely death. An autopsy has now found, the Washington Post reports, that Epstein "sustained multiple breaks in his neck bones, according to two people familiar with the findings."
