President Donald Trump blasted Hollywood as “really terrible” and even called out the entertainment industry for being “racist.” The president condemned the violence in Hollywood blockbuster movies and the bias against conservatives as he spoke to reporters Friday outside of the White House. “Hollywood, I don’t call them the elites. I think the elites are people that go after them in many cases,” Trump said. “But Hollywood is really terrible. You talk about racist, Hollywood is racist.” “What they’re doing with the kind of movies they’re putting out is actually very dangerous

I'm trying to figure how stupid the people who spent money to make this film have to be! Was this supposed to be a remake of The Island of Doctor Moreau or The Most Dangerous Game?? I did hear that it has been labeled a 'satire' ??? So who are the protagonists? How can the elites who hunt defenceless people & say nasty things about the president be the good guys?

When a federal judge in Kentucky threw out a lawsuit against the Washington Post over its coverage of the Covington Catholic controversy, he said while the Post hadn’t defamed them, their language was “loose, figurative,” and “rhetorical hyperbole.”The lawsuit, which centered around reporting done by the Post in the news section of their website, was brought by Nicholas Sandmann, the student that was criticized on social media and television for “smirking” at a Native American activist during a field trip to Washington D.C. It was dismissed in late July. The video of the incident went viral shortly after being posted, and has come under scrutiny

The Trump administration on Monday issued a long-awaited rule strengthening the ability of federal officials to deny green cards to immigrants deemed likely to rely on government aid.Officials described the so-called "public charge" rule as a way to ensure those granted permanent residency are self-sufficient -- and protect taxpayers in the process.“The principle driving it is an old American value, and that’s self-sufficiency,” U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) Acting Director Ken Cuccinelli told Fox News in an interview. “It’s a core principle -- the American Dream itself -- and it’s one of the things that distinguishes us, and it's central to the legal history

"We have a huge problem with guns," former Vice President Joe Biden wrote in a New York Times op-ed published on Sunday."Assault weapons — military-style firearms designed to fire rapidly — are a threat to our national security, and we should treat them as such. Anyone who pretends there’s nothing we can do is lying," he said, "and holding that view should be disqualifying for anyone seeking to lead our country."Biden took partial credit for enacting the 1994 law that banned a variety of semiautomatic weapons and high-capacity magazines for 10 years.

Here are a few things I know firsthand about being in jail. First and foremost, you have virtually no control over your life and surroundings. You can’t get so much as an aspirin without authorization. In most jails, you can’t wear a belt, or shoelaces, or keep a razor in your cell. You have no privacy, no sense of dignity, and no rights. And in a well-run jail, high-profile prisoners have virtually no chance of killing themselves. So the alleged suicide of Jeffrey Epstein, the 66-year-old financier with powerful American and foreign friends who was about to stand trial for allegedly sexually abusing dozens of girls, many of them underage,

August 10, 1969: SAN CLEMENTE, Calif.—President Nixon accused his predecessor Lyndon Baines Johnson of complicity in the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. Speaking with reporters on the first day of a 10-day stay at his Pacific Ocean vacation home …. Of course, that never happened. Obviously. How could it, how dare it? But had it happened, such an accusation—by a president, against a former president—would have convulsed the United States and the world. Today, President Trump accused his predecessor, Bill Clinton—or possibly his 2016 campaign opponent, former First Lady and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton—of complicity in the death of the accused sex-trafficker, Jeffrey Epstein.

Our thinking this week, amid all the carnage and grief and finger-pointing, has been in part on Beto O’Rourke, the presidential candidate from El Paso, where 22 people were killed last Saturday. Our sympathy is devoted to the dead and their families, of course — but Beto has been on our minds, too. We keep coming back to a moment last Sunday when, for a few seconds, all the pretenses that are part of running for president in our age of constant exposure were peeled back, if only briefly. There are times, it seems, in most presidential campaigns when the facades get stripped away like so many layers of paint.

That's on top of her plan for federal licensing for gun ownership -- presumably with a federal database of who owns what -- expanded background checks, and a renewed ban on "assault-style" weapons.
