Rather than listen to media pundits explain what President Trump and AG Bill Barr said today at the White House, here’s the transcript: (Photo) THE PRESIDENT: Thank you very much everyone. Are you a citizen of the United States of America? “Oh, gee, I’m sorry, I just can’t answer that question.” And that’s after spending billions and billions of dollars. There used to be a time when you could answer questions like that very easily. There used to be a time when you could proudly declare, “I am a citizen of the United States.” Now they’re trying to erase the very existence of a very important word and

Excellent transcript. Trump's new way of determining citizenship is far more accurate, and we should have our most accurate census in decades.

Personally,,I think even allowing judicial review of a strictly executive action isn't in our best interests. But with the pubicrats not supporting the president, this is a good plan B, and most likely puts the leftards knickers in a twist, especially once they fully realize what it means.

Ditto #1. Also, I agree with President Trump that there are probably a lot more illegal aliens in the US than the commonly stated figure of 11 million. As a poster on another thread said several months ago, the number of illegal aliens in the US is probably close to the number of fake and stolen SSNs floating around.

I thought the districting determinations for the House still had to be based on the actual 'official' census. If not, can someone set me straight?!?

Chief Justice Roberts stated that the Census Bureau has the legal right to include the citizenship question. Yet in typical Roberts fashion, he then wrote that he didn’t like the Bureau’s reason for including the question, which negated the legal right he just articulated to include the citizenship question on the Census form. He and the other 4 liberals on the SC then gave the Administration 3 months to come up with a explanation for the question. The Administration and AG Barr decided not to attempt an explanation for this basic question for the Census. This has to be a new low for AG Barr. A low that Barr may fall below when he is unable to find the magic “predicate” that would allow the DoJ to prosecute the corrupt members of the Obama regime for their attempted coup.
The citizenship question failure is beyond embarrassing, and the Democrats are surely delighted at this failure. The transcript of PDT’s press conference about data collecting is simply an attempt to hide this failure to protect the sovereignty of our country, The President picks weak AGs.

The far left would try to keep the question tied up in the courts until it was too late to conduct the census and then go after Trump for failing a Constitutional directive. They can still argue the question for the next round (though if a Den is in ofdice, the question Wil organise again immediately).
In theory, the number of citizens can be counted by the other records and the number of illegals can be determined by simple math (census total - citizens - legal aliens = illegals). The left will argue accuracy, but they would also be coaching the illegals to lie on the census and check "citizen" which would skew the counts beyond repair. It's illegal to lie on the census, but what do they care as they are already breaking the law.
There isn't a perfect way to address the problem since there is already so much dishonesty in the system, but this way is as viable as any other and it may lead to being able to spot illegals more easily as duplicate records (such as a single SSN or driver's license number at multiple addresses) are bound to trigger red flags to be investigated.

Hmmm.. Are people put under oath when they answer the census questions? What? People lie?/s
I wonder what is more accurate-the census or government data./s
One could think this whole census affair was planned...hehehe.

"...as a practical matter, the Supreme Court’s decision closed all paths to adding the (citizenship) question to the 2020 census."
This was by design, certainly. The Court has its ties to the Uniparty, too. This will quickly be hauled into court and enjoined...the truth is something the Uniparty can't handle. Eleven million? Years ago it was estimated 25-30 million, and few have gone home since. Would anyone be surprised if it was higher? Would it be "shocking"?

As I, and many others, have stated before, Trump doesn't like to lose. Good move DJT.
