The tragic image of a father and his 11-month-old daughter dead in the Rio Grande is a result of bad immigration policies that Democrats could change, President Trump said Wednesday. “Open borders mean people drowning in the rivers,” the president told reporters who demanded his reaction to the image, which surfaced in Mexican papers earlier this week, then was splashed on the front page of The New York Times on Wednesday. The father and daughter, from El Salvador, tried to cross the Rio Grande from Mexico to Texas. But the girl got caught in the current and then the father

While this is a tragedy, that photo looks staged.

The real cruelness of the illegal immigration problem is the human suffering toll. Not only on Americans who are killed, raped, robbed and misused by foreign criminals but the poor souls who risk their life and liberty on the dangerous trip across Mexico with coyotes, both four legged and the more dangerous two legged creatures who will extort, enslave, capture, rape, use children as props and pawns for smuggling humans and/or illegal contriband, and desert these folks in areas where their lives are in peril due to heat or bodies of water along the border or in the arid lands of Southwest USA or Mexico.
Listening to our Democrat liberal friends, you'd think the trip is just like a Perrillo vacation train trip through Italy with fine wines and crossants.

I would never want to see any child die for any reason. The Democrats are 100% responsible for this. They show no leadersip and take no accountability for the border crisis. It is too useful as a political weapon to hurt Trump. Keep displaying this picture you despicable flaming liberals. It can be a daily reminder of what you created.

Same bull---- used to pull on the old heartstrings as over in Europe. Remember the drowned, washed up little boy? I agree it was pitiful, but who really is responsible? The parent.
Of course, none of this matters now. We are past the point of no return now. Our country is gone.

How many days before the family files a lawsuit against the government for this tragedy?

The flood gates at Elephant Butte Dam in Southern New Mexico were opened on May 30, and the USGS gage below the dam shows more than 6 feet of water flowing down the Rio Grande. It is not a good time to try to swim across the river, and certainly not with your 11 month old daughter.

Was it really his daughter, or did he rent a child to get early release, if he got caught?

I believe the photograph of the intending illegal aliens in the river is legitimate. To the Border Patrol such incidents are not out of the ordinary as about 300 such corpses are found along the borderline each year. The vast majority of those corpses are those of intending illegal aliens. Of the 300 corpses found each year about a third of them are found in the Border Patrol Rio Grande Valley Sector that encompasses the Rio Grande Valley of Texas and the big ranches stretching many miles to the North of the borderline.
To address the problem of the found corpses, the Border Patrol in the Rio Grande Valley Sector has set up a special unit called the Missing Migrant Program in an effort to work with foreign consulates, Forensic Pathologists, Medical Examiners and law enforcement officers at all levels of government in an effort to identify the individual corpses and to coordinate the return of the deceased to their families in their home countries. Most of the found corpses have been out in the elements for long periods to time and are extremely decomposed or are skeletal in nature having been fed on by all sorts of scavengers. Anyone who doubts that situation along the Wild West borderline, especially the ignorant media only has to contact the Border Patrol to view the photographs of each individual corpse.
The liberal media is claiming that the man and his child found dead yesterday in the Rio Grande River were forced to cross illegally to the USA because the Trump Administration would not grant the family asylum in the USA at a Port of Entry. But the dead man’s wife is saying that the family was trying to gain entry to the USA for employment purposes so that they could save enough money to purchase a home. That is a reason why most economic migrants have given for decades when the are apprehended illegally entering or in the USA, and is not a valid reason under the law for aliens to be granted asylum in the USA under the asylum laws.

We dangle out tremendous taxpayer-funded benefits to all comers, then provide no disincentive for them from coming here. We need a wall, yes, but we also need to shut off the faucet (birthright citizenship, free public education, free healthcare, etc).
