It is graduation season, and as such, many families are attending college commencement ceremonies. Some schools hire prominent or celebrity commencement speakers, while others keep the ceremony in-house with Chancellors and school presidents doing the honors. At the commencement of University of California, Berkeley recently, Chancellor Carol T. Christ delivered the commencement speech, along with barbs and jabs at President Donald Trump, according to several parents who attended the graduation ceremony at Memorial Stadium. These parents spoke to the California Globe on condition of anonymity. Did the parents actually expect anything less from Berkeley? If so, what planet are they living on?

Sounds like the parents got a little taste of what the stew-dents had shoveled down their throats for 120+ semester hours.

Mistake #1 that parents made was paying for their kid to be indoctrinated. That tells me they weren't looking for their kid to get an actual education but rather to become a drone.

It pays to be a doctor. It really pays to be a neurosurgeon. It really, really pays to be a neurosurgeon at San Joaquin General Hospital. The eight highest-paid county employees in California last year were all physicians or physician managers for San Joaquin County, with three of them making more than $1 million in 2018, according to wage data released Tuesday by the state Controller’s Office. The controller’s database shows wages as a total of “regular pay,” “overtime pay,” “lump-sum pay” and “other pay.”

The Stanford professor who saw through Elizabeth Holmes' Theranos fraud has blasted the company's investors as 'old men whose brains went to their groin'. Phyllis Gardner, a professor of medicine at Stanford and a former partner in a health care venture capital firm, criticized Elizabeth Holmes' blood testing company long before fraud charges were brought against her. Holmes, who was named one of America's richest women in 2014 by Forbes, with Theranos valued at $9 billion, is currently facing up to 20 years in jail for lying about 'revolutionary' blood testing technology.

CHICAGO (AP) — A Chicago White Sox employee of the month got to throw out a first pitch. And, to put it mildly, she was just a little bit off target. The rookie right-hander uncorked one of the most wayward first pitches ever when she plunked a team photographer standing close by, between the mound and first base line prior to Tuesday night’s game against the Kansas City Royals. The ball went right off Darren Georgia’s lens, nowhere near the plate.

The last few days have been a clear example of why Sen. Kamala Harris’ presidential campaign is wobbling. Let’s begin with the former district attorney’s visit to her home ground for the 75th anniversary celebration of the Sun Reporter, the town’s African American newspaper. Harris worked the pre-party crowd with charm, sharing jokes and memories with everyone she came across. But when she took the stage, we got a 30-minute lecture on the importance of the First Amendment. An inspiring subject, but she went on way too long and without any reference to where she was or who was in the room. She might as well have been in New Hampshire.

Hagan, told The Daily Caller on Wednesday. “The reintroduction of this uniform is meant to inspire trust and confidence in our soldiers’ professionalism and readiness,” she added.

NEW YORK — If New York is a city of dreams, Anna Sorokin had plenty of them. Sorokin, a Russian immigrant from a middle-class family, longed to be a member of the upper echelon of Manhattan society. She elbowed her way into the city’s bustling social scene and tried to raise money to open a members-only arts club on Park Avenue South. To friends and those wanting to do business with her, there was no reason to believe she was not who she said she was — a wealthy German heiress with a taste for the high life.

Socialism — pro or con — is the hot issue in Democratic circles as the party’s candidates for president prepare to debate this week. To the obvious objection that socialism failed catastrophically in Venezuela and the Soviet Union, Democratic democratic socialists have a ready response: Our model is the thriving nations of northern Europe. “I think that countries like Denmark and Sweden do very well,” Sen.
