Ninety-nine years ago, Democrat Sen. John Walter Smith of Maryland provided $50 of his own — not government — money to help erect a cross in his home state. He was responding to a request from Mrs. Martin Redman, a mother who had lost her son in World War I.To honor him and the 48 other men from Prince George's County who had lost their lives in the war, she had joined the Prince George's Memorial Committee, whose goal was to erect a memorial not far from the Maryland border with the District of Columbia. In a thank-you note, she told the senator that her son "lost his life in France

This is a monumental president ruling that has yet to be appreciated by the media or perhaps it is and they choose to ignore it. Thomas' arguments justify literally thousands of similar state and local examples.

Nearly 100 years passed before anyone was 'offended' by the memorial for dead soldiers. That alone is reason to dismiss the protests against the cross.

Please keep saying America is great. Because it is. I say this in response to the New York Times' Nayeema Raza and Taige Jensen's video request to the alternate,"Please stop telling me America is great." The problems begin with the authors' assessment of the U.S. poverty rate, which is lower than it might be because so many of the world's poor seek to make their homes here, knowing that economic opportunity awaits them.Referencing the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, Raza and Jensen offer a graphic which says the U.S. has the "highest poverty rate." One problem?

Far-left CNN and, most especially, network chief Jeff Zucker, owe Quillette journalist Andy Ngo a personal apology. For more than a year now, Zucker’s CNN has championed and defended not just the left-wing terrorist group Antifa, but Antifa’s regular and documented use of violence and physical intimidation. Here is a short list of CNN excusing, complimenting, and encouraging Antifa’s use of violence against CNN’s political enemies on the right: Antifa fights for a “good cause.” Antifa’s fight “is right.”

The near-unanimous verdict across the mainstream media about last week’s Democratic debates — from the New York Times to the Wall Street Journal — is that the party has moved so far to the left that it is jeopardizing its chances to unseat President Donald Trump in 2020. The concern from left-leaning outlets like the Times can be interpreted as a warning to the Democratic presidential primary field that they need to find a way to shift back toward the center — even superficially — right away.

(Video) Fox News host Chris Wallace showed a clip of the first Democratic presidential debate when Sen. Reparations are a fashionable political topic that has been employed extensively by the Democrats, feeding right into their identity politics and their intersectional victimhood scale of merit.Putting the feel-good stuff and the virtue-signaling aside, the administration of such an idea is fraught with many problems and leaves sensible people — Republicans in particular — with only a fight-or-flight response.I propose another approach. Let's force the Democrats to pay reparations to every American citizen who is not a Democrat...or to somebody, anyway. First the motive. The Democrats are responsible for many bad things, but let's just focus on those things that no rational person

The unidentified woman wanted to address the crowd inside the Greenwich Village gay bar where patrons fought back against police harassment 50 years ago, birthing the LGBTQ movement. She arrived unannounced and disrupted a drag show, drawing an unfriendly response at first.
