President Trump reportedly authorized, and then cancelled, a retaliatory attack on Iran Thursday night for the downing of an unarmed U.S. drone the night before.(Photo) President Trump explained his thinking behind the decision on Friday morning on Twitter. President Trump: President Obama made a desperate and terrible deal with Iran – Gave them 150 Billion Dollars plus I.8 Billion Dollars in CASH! Iran was in big trouble and he bailed them out. Gave them a free path to Nuclear Weapons, and SOON. Instead of saying thank you, Iran yelled ‘Death to America.’ I terminated deal, which was not even ratified by Congress, and imposed strong sanctions.

Up until now there has been only property damage in these attacks. I think Trump is right to hold off escalation. I say, seize Iranian assets to pay for the $200 million drone. And, include treble damages for punative sake.

Bush’s invasion of Iraq is one of the most egregious errors of his disappointing administration. I’m glad Trump is thinking with a cool head. As the other poster said, shooting down the drone was property damage. Not worth lives.

Better to vaporize 150 rag heads than 1 of military professionals. A drone over international waters is like sovereign American soil.

President Trump will not put our troops lives on the line without VERY good reason. Trust me, Iran will feel the pain bigly and quietly. I would not be surprised to hear that they have shut down their BOMB program for no apparent reason.

There will always be another day for President Trump to lay a haymaker on the Iranians. No doubt the current sanctions regime is hurting the Iranian economy and is why the Iranians are lashing out. Chances are the Iranians will keep carrying out their plans to militarily escalate against the USA. In the meantime Trump could well hit the Iranians with more sanctions making the Iranian economic situation worse. Once the Iranians strike militarily again, the door will be wide open for Trump to respond in kind.

Senate Republicans, eager to avert a government shutdown or automatic spending cuts, want acting White House chief of staff Mick Mulvaney pushed to the sidelines in budget negotiations with Democrats. GOP lawmakers would prefer Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin take the lead in representing the White House, as they see him being more amenable to a two-year spending deal that would also raise the debt limit. Mulvaney, on the other hand, is viewed as resistant to striking a two-year deal, which would take the prospect of another government shutdown off the table until after the 2020 election.

This time, he compared the Trump administration's policy of refusing to facilitate abortions for illegal immigrant minors to oppressive systematic rape to produce children. Speaking at the Planned Parenthood Action Fund forum "We Decide," O'Rourke made the ridiculous comparison while pandering to abortion activists in a desperate attempt to revive his faltering presidential ambitions.
