George Washington High School in San Francisco, California, plans to remove an “offensive” mural of George Washington. At a school board meeting this week, no board members spoke in defense of the historical art, which one speaker claims causes “visual offense.”According to a local news report, George Washington High School in San Francisco plans to erase a 13-panel mural from 1936 that depicts George Washington. Many critics of the mural have condemned its depictions of slaves and Native Americans. Now, the school is on the verge of removing the mural altogether.Breitbart News originally reported on the push to remove the mural in May, when alumni backed the calls for removal.

It's time that California had an intervention! Isn't that what you do when you see a family member going off the deep end? There are no adults running that state but plenty of mental illness, especially in the state gvt.

They keep telling us that "as goes Kalifornia, so goes the country." Never going to happen. It's hard to believe that there are that many anti-American snowflakes, all gathered up in one place, but the good news is, when the SHTF, they'll be easy to find.

Maybe the painting of George Washington can be replaced with a painting of Santa Anna. Or the president of Mexico Would that calm their troubled minds?

As a White male whose ancestors arrived after the Civil War, I am simpatico with those "psychologically damaged" students of color and Native American students who were born many many years after GW, I find the history of slavery in the new world offensive. According to the sort of "logic" expressed in the article, all history of new world slavery, and the treatment of Native Americans during and after GW should be expunged from our K thru 12 history books, college courses, and libraries.
The history of Old World slavery in Africa, Asia, etc and Native American (pre and post Colombian) slavery should remain in the text books if it hasn't been written out already by the Progressives/leftists/Socialists (Soviet, National or international).

This is exactly what Communists do. They erase history and make up something to take it's place.

So when they remove all the slave holders' statues and other remembrances, who will they put in their places? Who is perfect enough? I am offended each time I see a street or anything named after Martin Luther King. He was a so-called minister of God but a hypocrite of the worst order. He was a serial womanizer who was no role model for black men and boys. However, I wouldn't go so far as to remove these remembrances of him. You remember the good and compartmentalize the bad in your mind. An intellectually health person must do that.

I would love it if ONLY California was infected with this foolish thinking but its seen everywhere there are government schools. I take the greatest offense at any disrespect to our first President. George Washington’s character and contributions as President absolutely stand alone. I can’t believe decent people could stand by while his name or picture were erased.

I have seen late 19th century art, painted by black, self taught artists, that is really beautiful. Upper class blacks collect such objects, which often depict slaves picking cotton, tilling the soil, and or sitting around slave quarters.
(an episode of the Cosby show had a story line where his wife, an attorney who was never shown practicing law, went to an art auction and spent 18,000 dollars on a painting by a black artist depicting slaves working in the fields. That was serious money back in the 1980s.))
When will activists demand that those works of art be eliminated?
How crazy have we become?

Someone should tell the propaganda victims that their city was
named by Spanish Jesuits after Saint Francis. Then tell ‘em the
Bay Area was discovered by Spanish explorer Juan Batista de
Anza in 1776.
