What We’ve Learned about Jussie Smollett

Original Article

It’s been a few weeks since March 26, when all charges against Jussie Smollett were dropped and the actor declared that his version of events had been proven correct. How’s that going? Smollett’s celebrity defenders have gone quiet. His publicists and lawyers are dodging reporters. The @StandwithJussie Twitter account has ten followers. Smollett’s boss on Empire, showrunner Lee Daniels, now says he is “beyond embarrassed” that he rushed to defend the actor when Smollett first started telling that badly scripted story about his staged attack by a pair of supposed Trump fanatics who at the time seemed to be the only people in America who even knew

There are many photos of Jussie & the Obama's...especially Jussie w/the Mooch. The sisters worked for Obama altho I don't remember in what capacity. The Obama's are up to their eyeballs in the Smollett racist attack, and the aftermath. Don't be surprised to see Jussie resurface at the Dem Convention alongside Mooch singing and dancing his little evil heart out.

What I learn is question a certain group when you first hear or read of an incident and don't trust but verify. The Chicago police chief was the righteous one in the whole incident until the prosecutor squashed it all. Somebody, like the Obamas, stopped it from going with criminal charges against Jussie. Smollett's supporters were quick to defend him because they themselves wanted it to be true.

Saying Smollett did this to get more Empire money is ignoring half the deal. If he just wanted to be a victim for sympathy all he had to do what hit himself, show up at the hospital and call the cops. HE STAGED A PLAY for the street surveillance cameras, with costumes, props, and makeup, well knowing that 24/7 airing video clip of a "racist beatdown" would get blood boiling and logic turned off. Remember how non-plussed he was when the cops told him the camera he pointed out to "prove" his story was focussed in the other direction. Jussie was bidding for maximum national impact on race politics with a side order of civil rights sainthood - the new Trayvon, but alive to enjoy it. He'd never have to work as a legitimate actor again. Books, speaking engagements, Nike endorsements, dem political stardom, he was playing for far bigger stakes than a TV show could offer. Doesn't this all line right up with the regular racial killing scenarios from the Obama years? Of course it does.

According to a new poll, America’s favorite vegetable has been crowned — and it may not be what you expect. A new survey of 2,000 Americans officially crowned our favorite vegetable and the new king of veggies is…corn! Cracking the top three along with corn, which yielded 91.4% of survey respondents saying they liked it, were potatoes (91.2%), barely missing out on the No. 1 spot. Carrots and tomatoes tied for third at 89%.

If there is one thing you learn about at Oberlin, the notoriously progressive liberal-arts college, it is surely privilege: white privilege, hetero privilege, gender privilege — you name it. Now, an Ohio jury has identified an entirely new variety — Woke Privilege — and resolved to hold accountable people who believe they are protected by it. The jury handed down a staggering $11 million verdict against Oberlin for a smear campaign against a local business and awarded another $33 million in punitive damages to the targeted mom-and-pop store, Gibson’s Food Market and Bakery.

Last week, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced a plan to reduce plastic pollution, which will include a ban on single-use plastics as early as 2021. This is laudable: plastics clog drains and cause floods, litter nature and kill animals and birds. Of course, plastic also makes our lives better in a myriad of ways. In just four decades, plastic packaging has become ubiquitous because it keeps everything from cereals to juice fresher and reduces transportation losses, while one-use plastics in the medical sector have made syringes, pill bottles and diagnostic equipment more safe. Going without disposable plastic entirely would leave us worse off, so we need

In a concurring opinion in a Supreme Court case announced Monday, Justice Clarence Thomas issued a lengthy call for his colleagues to overturn "demonstrably erroneous decisions" even if they have been upheld for decades -- prompting legal observers to say Thomas was laying the groundwork to overturn the seminal 1973 case Roe v. Wade, which established a constitutional right to abortion. Thomas' blunt opinion came in Gamble v. United States, a case concerning the so-called "double-jeopardy" doctrine, which generally prohibits an individual from being charged twice for the same crime. But both pro-life and pro-choice advocates quickly noted the implications of his reasoning for a slew of other future cases,

The Justice Department has rejected New York County District Attorney Cy Vance Jr.'s attempt to have former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort transferred to the notorious Rikers Island prison complex ahead of his pending state court trial, amid questions as to why the move was even contemplated in the first place, Fox News is told. Fox News first reported earlier this month that a New York State judge ordered the transfer at Vance's request. However, because Manafort has been convicted on federal charges, any attempt to move him out of federal custody must be approved by Deputy Attorney General Jeffrey Rosen. On Monday, Rosen denied the attempt, effectively

The greatest thing about Donald Trump is how his election has caused our enemies to reveal exactly what kind of seedy, corrupt weasels they truly are. My apologies to weasels – those creatures don’t deserve to be associated with the shoddy assembly of race hustlers, graft grabbers, liberal liars, garbage media scribblers and submissive Fredocon lackies who make up our grotesque liberal elite. Our enemies despise us, and look down upon us from what they assume we’ll consider the moral high ground, judging and berating us for the literal and figurative crimes they themselves commit. So watch for me to be labeled “weaselist’ and told to confront my nonweasel privilege

The Trump administration is doing just about everything it can to slow the flood of undocumented Mexicans and Central Americans coming to the U.S. and claiming asylum. But alleviating our growing border crisis is impossible unless Congress changes our immigration laws. Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, was right when he said Tuesday during a congressional hearing on border security that there is “absolutely no justification whatsoever for Congress to sit on the sidelines and watch as this crisis continues to unfold.” The emergency on the border is “getting worse and worse as Congress sits on its hands and does absolutely nothing” to help. The border pandemonium is literally fatal. Since December,

Last Wednesday the intelligence community launched its first attack on Attorney General William Barr’s investigation into its illegal acts and abuses of power during the 2016 election. In a New York Times article entitled “Justice Department Seeks to Question CIA in its Own Russia Investigation,” the IC makes clear its fear of the results of Barr’s investigation of their spy operation on candidate Trump in 2016 that continued through his early presidency. The article, obviously written at the behest of its intelligence community sources — “current and former American officials” — is the first of many concerted attacks on Attorney General William Barr’s investigation of the joint CIA/FBI spy operation.

When Donald Trump told George Stephanopoulos he (Donald) might listen to "oppo" research coming from a foreign source and that he might not tell the FBI about it, the mainstream media, as is so often the case, deliberately missed or misstated what he meant, went into one of their usual hissy fits, and attacked the president, even calling him treasonous. Besides the obvious hypocrisy, pointed out with characteristic aplomb by Andrew McCarthy, something else, likely more important, was at play. The media (and the Democrats, of course) deliberately missed the point because you would have to be seriously intellectually challenged not to get why Trump might have been hesitant or ambivalent

“Only you — only you! — could manage to get shot in the ass!” The year was 1987. A group of middle-aged men sat under the umbrellas at the cheap fiberglass tables of the Holiday Inn in Columbus, Georgia not far from Fort Benning. The sign out in front of the hotel, the letters hanging somewhat askew, read: WELCOME 8TH AIRBORNE RANGER COMPANY The comment about taking an unfortunate enemy round in the gluteus maximus was an affectionate jab from one member of the company to another, and it was met with howls of protest and laughter. “Son,” a grizzled old veteran

Imagine if Donald Trump announced he would change his longtime opposition to public funding of abortion in order to ensure that black, Hispanic, and poor women can abort their babies. Would liberals need even 10 seconds before foaming at the mouth screaming that he’s a racist? Last week in Atlanta, Joe Biden, Democrat presidential frontrunner for 2020, said: “For many years as a U.S. senator, I have supported the Hyde amendment as many, many others have because there was sufficient monies and circumstances where women were able to exercise that right [to abortion], women of color, poor women, women were not able to have access…. But circumstances have changed.” Thus, said Biden,

Because there’s no point pretending we would ever recommend that readers vote for Trump. After 2½ years we’ve seen enough.

It’s striking how quickly the culture can change. Just a short time ago, surely few would’ve believed that a common viewpoint — that it would be unfair to let guys take away athletic victories from girls by allowing them to compete in women’s sports — would be labeled the result of an irrational fear. Yet here we are: What was considered common sense and common goodness is now a symptom of mental illness. “Transphobia” has gotten so much traction, in fact, that Brazil just criminalized it — it’s punishable by a half decade in prison.
