Amid Jimmy Fallon’s stunning loss in the ratings, Page Six hears that there’s turmoil at the top of the “Tonight Show” with one exec suddenly and mysteriously out and another tearing into boss Lorne Michaels as they struggle to fix the faltering show.
Fallon’s “Tonight Show” has been steadily falling behind newcomer Stephen Colbert’s “Late Show,” and on Wednesday it was revealed that Colbert has topped Fallon for a full season for the first time.
As Fallon’s famously fluffy show began to fall behind Colbert’s politically charged material, Fallon tried to ape Colbert by bringing in “Today” show vet Jim Bell as showrunner to inject some topical heat to the

Yesterday I watched a clip of an interview Johnny Carson did with Tim Conway back in the day. My how far we've fallen. No wonder we cut the cord, we only do streaming now and have a digital antenna for local news which we mostly watch for road conditions in the winter. I couldn't tell you what is on television these days.

My thoughts too, #1. I just watched a Johnny Carson interview with big
band drummer great, Buddy Rich. It was hilarious. Rich did not read
music at all but was somehow able to hear a piece once and know when and what to do as drummer. Remarkable really. The funny part was when
Johnny brought up Doc Severinsen, then Tommy Newsom and finally the drummer to explain how Rich was able to do it. Their answers were all confounding gibberish.
Now after Carson and Leno, who was also good, there is this pandering leftist no-talent from SNL.

I always thought Fallon was 100% more entertaining that Colbert. Colbert, to me, always seemed angry, wrong-headed, and not at all funny. Maybe, all the libs are watching Colbert instead of Fallon mainly for affirmation of their beliefs. Meantime, all the people who would enjoy watching Fallon are in bed because they have to get up and work in the morning.

Maybe this no talent hack Fallon should bring back that hulking, tranny Michelle Obama to dance with him again. a sure fire way to boost his ratings.

I've always found Jimmy to be a warm, endearing presence. But he chose to go with a poor compromise -- anti-Trump lite. Just anti-Trump enough enough to lose the respect and viewership of the Normals, and not anti-Trump enough to satisfy the viewing needs of Henny Penney Democrats. It's too bad. If there was anyone with the talent to pull off traditional comedy and bring things back the mean, it would have been Fallon.

There will never be another Steve Allen, Jack Paar or Johnny Carson they were great! My opinion the Talk Shows today all suck! Their guests are unheard of and are asked stupid question. I think the worse show is monotone Seth Myers not funny at all, he acts like he is out of it.

How can anyone have a “funny” program when anything you say makes somebody angry and starts a lawsuit. In the past, I endured the three weather forecasts in the half hour local news to get to the late show. Now I wait for the weather, much more reliable.

Jimmy Fallon is a talented guy, but his weakest link is what the show is supposed to be about - interviewing interesting people. Every time I see a "highlight" from the Tonight Show posted somewhere, it's a comedy bit Fallon is doing with a celebrity and never an actual interview. Carson, of course, did bits - loved the "Mighty Carson Art Players," but Johnny was also a great interviewer. Carson was not perfect by any means - watching the old shows today the pace is slow and the interviews too long. He (Carson) also had way too many local LA officials and celebrities on that would never be on air today. But, in my opinion, if Fallon wants to start having any success he doesn't need to get edgy or political. He needs to get lessons on how to interview people.

Those under 40 don't know what talent or comedy is unless there is some form of political bent to it, and if that political bent is anti American and anti Republican so much the better. It's why Colbert's show does so well. Political correctness has ruined not only television, but the movies and comedy as well. While Johnny Carson's audience was comprised of all age groups, today's late night is nothing but the under thirty crowd. A group of people brainwashed by leftist BS their entire lives.

Conan still does interesting stuff but the rest are a wreck. I really don't watch network TV ever unless it's a Hawkeye or Viking game. The ads are driving me away from Pro Football also! Going to record this year on TIVO and skip through the ads!

They may need to retread Leno yet again.
