The full proportions of the debacle that awaits the Democrats next fall is starting to penetrate their complacent disdain and revulsion toward President Trump. Rank-and-file Democrats are so ecstatic at the arrival of a known candidate whose views on principal policy issues cannot be invoked by Republicans to frighten children into eating their breakfast cereal that they have accorded Joe Biden a levitation in the polls. Biden is a shopworn, moth-eaten, malapropistic journeyman about whom, when asked to assess him as a potential president, former bipartisan defense secretary

Mr. Black mentions Biden and Klobuchar as the most likely to be the last Dem candidates standing. Not much of a choice between a serial hair-sniffer and a gross lady that ate salad with her used comb.

Chance the Dims will have an intelligent candidate in 2020: 0%
Chance the Dims will try to cheat their way to power in 2020: 1000%

"this president will have a stronger argument for reelection next year than any president ..."
Yup. Another thing is that Trump has laid the groundwork, with the enthusiastic assistance of the media itself, of making the propaganda media irrelevant. The media lies or just gets a story completely wrong and they are dismissed as "fake news" as everyone knows they are. Their desperate attempts become ever more pathetic and transparent and they are becoming laughing stocks.
What makes it better is they are SO overwrought that no one takes them seriously that they address it by having major hissy fits, thereby reinforcing the perception of them as immature and incompetent. Trump doesn´t even have to get involved in the melt down. They self flagellate.
Beyond their ever shrinking discipleship, their influence is dead. More and more voters see them as "Enemies of the People".
In addition, the identity groups of the dems are cracking. Some are shifting to the extreme Left and, unfortunately, that could become a problem. But many are pulling their heads out of the dem sand and trying to see who their REAL friends are. Some are figuring out that a president that gets the economy going to provide them the means to elevate THEMSELVES is far better than all the dem gum flapping with fake promises and no results, ever. Millennials, Hispanics, Blacks, Women are all stepping back from dems. #WalkAway and #blexit.

Why hold an election? Isn´t acclamation enough?
Not so fast, Trumpistas. The "Dump Trump" game is alive and kicking.
The Uniparty, those crazy Dems and rollicking RINOS (actually the mainstream of the national Republican Party and its money) are just getting warmed up with Nadler, Cummings, Schiff and Pelosi. Mueller testifies, gets softball questions, cranks up the obstruction question and Barr´s decision not to prosecute, which is legitimized by a slew of talking heads and newspaper editorials, and we head into the congressional summer recess with lots of "cover-up" charges and talks of further investigation and even impeachment.
The object is to run Trump out of the race - go after him, his family, his associates, his campaign, and his bank account.
After Labor Day is when the fun begins, the final assault that must succeed to defend the Swamp and our government for $$$. Watch out for Mitt and Lindsey Graham...you trust them at your peril.

I too had great fear of an election where you had to overcome two opponents, The Democrat and Mr. Fraud. But now I am getting (perhaps a little prematurely) comfortable that the Fraud content of the Democrat effort is now getting beyond a realistic level even from them. They could try ´other´ means. But we will simply have to take it one step at a time.

By the time 2020 is here Joe Sniffer Biden will have to be propped up worse than Hillary Clinton on a hot sidewalk. Old Lunchbox Joe doesn´t have the mental capacity to even debate. Biden is the democrats choice with less than an ´inside fix´ like Hillary had for spying or an ´insurance policy´. Voter fraud and stuff boxes of ballots is all Groping Joe has on his side.
Smooth sailing could only happen in a legal political contest but this will be more like rough seas with the fraud from the left.

Purgatory could be defined as being locked in a room with Jo Biden and Nancy Pelosi, with a requirement that I would have to make sense out of their words.

What # 3 said x 2!
The Democrats have entered a blind cave- they took this journey and got lost along the way and now, they are helpless to find their way out. They went down the terribly flawed road of identity politics. They have to please everyone and in so trying, they have only angered everyone. Bernie voters will enver vote for anyone but bernie and all the rest have voters who are int he same ilk. They pander to jsut one set of individuals and so they can not meet expectations of anyone else. This has been the trouble with Crhistianity. Flaws, flaws, flaws are seized upon to rip away objectors and disaffecteds and in the final analysis, the whole dogma is torn asunder.
I am pleased the Democrats as we know them today, have self destructed. But, in the long run, the whole nation is far worse off for it. We need a blanaced system...we are more like a kite..we are stong only so long as we have balanced tension and compression. Tear out one string, break one spar, and we can fall apart quite easily.
