The owner of a small eatery in Virginia, which gained national attention last summer for kicking out White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders, says she remains proud of that decision. In fact, booting Sanders from the establishment has been great for business, claims Stephanie Wilkinson, the owner of the Red Hen in Lexington, in a Washington Post op-ed published Tuesday. Wilkinson said she was flooded with emails, letters and packages after the story of her encounter with Sanders went viral, many of them full of anger and wishes "that our business die a painful death." "After nearly a year, I’m

Is this her way of advertising the restaurant because business is actually slow?

Since the "new business" folks are liberals, I´m guessing that tips have taken a tumble.

I´m sure there was a rush of liberals eating there (ew!) at first, to display their solidarity. I suspect that the novelty has now worn off, even though the windows got washed and the kitchen allegedly cleaned up, and the short attention span liberals have moved on.

She talks about the ‘haters,’ and yet she seems to hate Trump, and Sanders, like all of the ‘resisters’ do, which just about all of the dishonest media. Also, maybe her business is good because the the Trump economy.

Ditto #4. This was begun because of the hate her personnel expressed toward the Sanders dinner party. So now she talks about the hate letters she received? How very textbook passive aggressive.
And she claims that after they left, that was the end of it. She has conveniently forgotten that she followed the Sanders dinner party to the restaurant across the street and continued her opposition toward them there.

For a person who is claiming that business is great she sounds awfully bitter. Then again, she is a liberal.

I´m trying my best to understand why USA wrote the story.
Will they follo0w up with the pimping out of David Hogg, the boy who stayed home from school during a school shooting, then rushed out in front of the cameras as a ´survivor?´
Or is it like the Jesse Jackson story, where Jackson was not on the motel balcony when MLK was shot, and rushed out to smear MLKs blood on his (Jackson´s) shirt?

So . . . in some places, kicking out black folks, Jews, gays, Muslims, Christians, socialists, and others would be good for business. That doesn´t make it right.
The tolerant Left is not tolerant at all.

The Red Hen is only one of the reasons why I avoid the liberal police state of Virginia like they were infested with Ebola. If I have to drive around for a few miles to get to Florida, so be it. I won´t spend a dollar there. Same with Massachusetts, Illinois and Kalifornia.

Read the stupid article as msn is my work email. She and her staff are intolerant bigots yet she projects her hate on conservatives. No matter how hard she and her leftie ghost writer try to spin it; she and her staff are horrible people and her food stinks! Have a nice day.

With the info that the Red Hen is dingy and dirty, why did Ms. Sanders choose to eat there? I wouldn’t. Like a previous poster said, “If it’s dirty on the outside, it’s dirty on the inside.” Even in better establishments, there’s plenty of salmonella and ptomaine risks.

More chum for the base to keep their spirits up, by showing that hating Trump is good for business. My guess is that this is mostly fiction.

They ran articles about how business was bad in the whole area as a result of what these folks did. They were saying "Don´t punish all of us for their actions." Now, we´re hearing business is booming...I think not. I think they´re failing, and painting a rosy picture very much at odds with reality.
Much like their politics, so no surprise, I guess....

I doubt business is good. This is a cry out a year later to "look at me". USA Today and a writer are helping but like all leftist schemes this will fail to bring results. A thriving business can´t survive when they eliminate half the clientele and depend on the remaining half for profit. Loser thought by the Red Hen owner.

If business was so good, I´m sure her tax payments reflect that point, and her wait-staff also had nice tips which means they too are paying more taxes, right?

USA Today is going the way of the dodo bird in just a few more years...this type of oped is not going to save them. Isn´t it interesting that they continue to promote hate and division when that is the major reason they are so unprofitable?
