Lawmakers in New York City will hold a hearing Wednesday on a measure that would ban the sale of nearly all new fur products. City council Speaker Corey Johnson sponsored the fur ban that will be the centerpiece of a hearing at City Hall Wednesday afternoon. The bill bans the sale of all fur, except for sales of used fur apparel and fur garments worn for religious reasons. The bill is fervently supported by radical animal rights activists and leftwing celebrities. People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals claim that the industry is cruel to animals. So, if adopted, this would mean that it would be legal to kill a child on his way through the birth canal (and presumably sell his body parts), but not sell the body parts/covering of a dead animal. So to extrapolate, protecting animals is more important to liberals than protecting human children. Got it. How horribly awry our society has gone.

I wonder if Jackie Gleason´s Order of the Raccoon members can still wear their hats?

Why stop at fur. Include leather in the ban.

What about leather? Do these clowns know that leather is the skin of an animal?

What !@#$!ing business is it of any lawmaker deciding what can or cannot be worn? Who the hell do these clowns think they are? Are there so many NY´ers traipsing about dressed like the wildlings in Game Of Thrones? With all the problems NYC has, this is even worthy of mention?

This is why the Left needs unfettered immigration. After the Normals leave the coasts, they need somebody to cut the grass and take out the garbage.

Soon, there will be no meat on the menus of those fancy restaurants. People will have to go over to New Jersey to get a meat-lover´s pizza!

Let´s review applications of ´´Religious Reasons´´
(1) If it´s to avoid a ´fur´ ban, it´s fine
(2) if it´s to avoid killing babies, it´s NOT fine

The silliness goes own and own and own.
When AOC passes her Green New Deal and every industry in the country shuts down, animal furs will be the only thing around to keep people warm. I guess everybody north of the Mason Dixon freezes to death? Come to think of it, that might not be a bad thing since most of our problems originate up there.

NYC has a recognized fur district next to garment district. They are willfully going to destroy an industry that employs a lot of people and occupies valuable real estate. The only people that wear fur for religious reasons are the Hasidic Jews and the fur that they wear around their hats does not have any religious significance . None. Only married men wear them . So that particular part of the bill is pure pandering. PETA? A hypocritical group.

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals has always been ruthless about getting what they want. They stole, with the help of the legal system, the www.peta.org URL from the People Eating Tasty Animals organization.

But what if it´s a gay man wearing fur, as many are wont to do? Or dogs and cats, and those darn squirrel. How about those who identify as any fur bearing animal and feel compelled to wear fur? Not well thought out, just more virtue signaling.

While they are banning fur, they are wearing leather shoes, belts, and carrying leather purses, and many wear leather skirts. What a bunch of puppets who are controlled by liberal idiots.

Where does their authority to do this come from? It certainly isn´t a public safety issue.
