Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey has signed the bill to make abortion a felony in Alabama, the governor’s office announced. The law does not take effect now or immediately change the legality of abortion in Alabama. “To the bill’s many supporters, this legislation stands as a powerful testament to Alabamians’ deeply held belief that every life is precious and that every life is a sacred gift from God,” Ivey said in a press release.(Snip) But the sponsors said their intent was to trigger litigation that could lead to a challenge of abortion rights nationally. Comments:

Awesome. Many federal laws need to be challenged on 10th Amendment grounds, and this is certainly a good place to start.

Good for you, Governor Ivey! And good on the Alabama legislature. Now if the SCOTUS will do the right thing in due course we won´t have this deadly scourge cumbering the ground of nation in the process of becoming great again.

We have an economy in which businesses are crying for employees. Sadly, millions of potentially productive workers have been discarded as "products of conception" and "medical waste". What kind of lives might these millions have led? How might they have honored the God in Whose image they were created? How might they have enriched the life of local communities and the whole nation in ways that cannot be measured in mere dollars and cents?

I fully expect that one day we will know and be appalled at the loss.

Right now, most women in Alabama have to drive at least a couple of hours to get an abortion.

If this law goes in to effect, most women in Alabama will just have to drive a couple of hours to a neighboring state to get an abortion.

But this will produce legal challenges that will hopefully reach the Supreme Court and finally give them a realistic chance to overturn Roe v. Wade!!!

And even if R v W is overturned in the Supreme Court, it will simply mean that each state will get to set their own laws concerning abortion. It does not mean it will be illegal in the USA.

But at least the few moral and ethical states out there will be able to stop the slaughter of unborn babies within their borders. But don´t worry, Cubafornia and New York will still be happy to slaughter your unborn babies for 9 months!!!!!

They should have waited until after Trump was re-elected. Instead, they galvanized middle-of-the-road and Democrat voters who will vote for anyone other than Trump in an effort to protect Roe v. Wade.

Would the Governor have signed it if she didn´t think it was politically wise? Alabama isn´t New York or California.

Wise for politicians in AL but not helpful for the national Presidential race. To see where this falls in that realm of importance, poll the independents or the willows who sway each election and are influenced by winds or war we can´t control.

Thankfully God is in charge and will factor in any gains by the kingdom of Darkness and use to His purpose.

These shocking pictures from downtown Los Angeles capture the growing problem it faces with trash and rodents in a desperate city also trying to contain a typhoid fever outbreak linked to worsening sanitary conditions. A decision to not cap the total amount of property that homeless people can keep on Skid Row was announced last Wednesday and it sparked fury among some officials who say it will ‘only perpetuate the public health crisis that already exists’ there. That, coupled with the news a Los Angeles police detective has been diagnosed with typhoid fever, has sparked concern among LA’s residents.

Atlanta-based Delta Air Lines is worth $37billion (£28billion) and flies to 370 destinations on six continents with state-of-the-art aircraft. Truly, it’s a titan of aviation. But it started life as a crop-dusting outfit in 1924. And when it expanded to passenger transportation it used planes that could only hit 90mph, with the wind behind them. Delta has been on quite a journey, then—and these fascinating pictures illustrate the carrier’s dramatic transformation over the decades. They show some of its earliest passenger planes, a restored 1931 model with five passenger seats, a 1940 Douglas DC-3,

President Trump and his defenders can successfully attack former Special Counsel Robert Mueller or congressional Democrats on impeachment – but not both. The independent voters who will decide the 2020 election don’t have time for multiple sets of arguments. Moreover, independent voters have limited interest in all things political. So the president and his advocates should keep it simple and focus on Congress, not Mueller, who resigned Wednesday. Mueller didn’t say anything when he spoke to journalists Wednesday that hadn’t already appeared in his report. That was the point of his news conference.
