The USNS Harvey Milk, named in honor of the gay rights activist, arrives at the Port of San Francisco Thursday, sailing under the Golden Gate Bridge on its maiden voyage ahead of a ceremony Friday to honor the ship and its namesake. Harvey Milk was a Navy diving officer before he was forced out of the service because of his homosexuality. He later became the first openly gay elected official in California in 1977 when he was elected city supervisor in San Francisco. He was assassinated at City Hall on November 27, 1978, along with Mayor George Moscone

This is just vile and disgusting to have named a Navy ship after a sodomite who is only famous because he was a sodomite. How many Navy heroes could this ship have been named after? How many brave men who died heroically serving this great nation in war in the Navy have never had a ship named after them??? But, thanks to the Demon-Rats and their deep love for anything sodomite-related, this speaks volumes about the state of our Navy today.

Simply being homosexual is no reason to lose a job - but then neither should it be considered a badge of honor or job qualification. If he was a good officer then I feel sorry he was forced out of the service unfairly. But was he really a hero worthy of having this ship named after him? Or, as I suspect, was the ship named for him simply because he was a mistreated member of the alphabet crowd?

Navy guys have to endure a lot of unearned ribbing over the gay thing as it is. How humiliating would it be to get assigned to a ship named after someone like that? I bet they dont have a lot of retention after that insult.

We had a Revolution to cast off British culture. British naval tradition managed to get though on this ship. Churchill's quote about the Royal Navy rings true.

Maame Djondo didn’t misspell a single word during Saturday’s Knights of Columbus spelling bee. And it’s a good thing too, because a single word is all she got. In fact, Djondo’s word — “cancel” — was the only word spelled on Saturday morning, as she was the only participant in the event. Once drawing as many as a dozen students, Lansing Knights of Columbus #3450 has hosted a spelling bee for decades, drawing local spellers in grades 5–8. However, the pandemic, combined with the closure of St. Ann School, has resulted in a lower turnout in recent years, said organizers. Last year’s bee drew three participants

The Supreme Court is expected to hear arguments into Trump's immunity claims on April 25. In addition to terms describing Islamic terrorists, ODNI instructs employees to avoid phrases such as "blacklisted," "cakewalk," "brown bag," "grandfathered," and "sanity check."

Claim: Comedian Jon Stewart said this week that the loans at the center of the civil real-estate case against Donald Trump meant there were fewer loans available to other borrowers. “Money isn’t infinite. A loan that goes to the liar doesn’t go to someone who’s giving a more honest evaluation. So the system becomes incentivized for corruption,” Stewart said. Verdict: False. The amount of money available for loans from banks is not diminished when banks make loans to other customers, except in the rare case of a distressed bank that is capital-constrained. A loan to one customer does not subtract from a fixed pool of loans

President Joe Biden is being pressed to use the reconstruction of the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore as an opportunity to remedy alleged racial discrimination against blacks in the construction industry. Biden said this week that he had told his administration officials to “move heaven and earth” to reopen the port of Baltimore and rebuild the bridge. The reconstruction efforts, however, may be complicated by demands that the project further leftwing ideas about racial justice, the treatment of immigrants, climate change, and wealth redistribution. An op-ed in The Hill underscores that some of these demands may be irreconcilable.

It’s hard to survey the state of our country and not conclude that something is very wrong in America. I don’t just mean with our economy or the border or rampant crime in our cities, but with our basic grasp on reality itself. Our cultural and political elite now insist that men can become women, and vice versa, and that even children can consent to what they euphemistically call “gender-affirming care.”

Now, a new report has revealed the effort to finish off the gas-powered car is well-underway in eight states. As The Daily Mail reported Tuesday, the rules being adopted in these states specify that only zero-emission vehicles, which include electric vehicles and certain plug-in hybrids, can be sold beginning with the 2035 model year. This is known as the Advanced Clean Cars II rule.

Huge projects, Schafer said, now take “rarely less than 10 years." Well, they didn't use to. By comparison, the Apollo program
