A Central Valley 17-year-old became the youngest person ever to pass the California Bar Examination, according to research by the Tulare County District Attorney's Office, which called the accomplishment "a legal history making moment."
District attorney officials said law clerk Peter Park passed the rigorous exam on his first attempt. He took the test back in July and received his results on Nov. 9.
On Dec. 5, he was sworn-in as one of California's youngest practicing attorneys, the DA's office said.

Two soap opera icons will again meet onstage Friday when Shemar Moore presents legendary television actor Susan Lucci with a lifetime achievement award at the 50th Daytime Emmys.
“It’s really totally amazing,” Lucci told “Good Morning America” on Monday. “We heard people say that ‘I’m humbled,’ I know what that feels like. I’m so humbled by this. ... My first thought is ‘Oh my goodness, have I achieved enough in my lifetime to [warrant the award]? ... I mean, I’m not Meryl Streep.”

Old hybrid vehicles can come with massive bills when their batteries die, as an Arizona man recently found out.
Lucas Turner was driving his 2014 Infiniti hybrid when its check engine light made its annoying appearance on the scene, according to KPHO-TV.
Not good, but with fewer than 70,000 miles on the vehicle, he was not expecting the bill would be a whopper.

“I will move. I can’t live in this country if he became president,” Streisand said told late-night host Stephen Colbert during an interview on The Late Show after being asked about her opinion of the idea of a second second Trump administration. After Colbert asked her where she would live if not the United States, the “Woman in Love” singer said, “Probably to England. I like England.”

Sweeping safety changes are coming to Isla Vista after a teenager's fatal fall, Santa Barbara County officials announced. On Tuesday, the Board of Supervisors "approved a comprehensive set of safety enhancements for the Isla Vista Bluffs," the county wrote in a press release. The initiative was spurred by the death of Santa Barbara City College student Benjamin “Benny” Schurmer. The 19-year-old fell to his death from an Isla Vista cliff on Sept. 2, the 13th such death since 1994.

Liberalism is a mental disorder.
Tyree Smith, a brain-eating cannibal, was released from a Bridgeport, Connecticut psych ward 50 years earlier than his scheduled release date for ‘good behavior’ even though he previously told his psychiatrist he wanted to eat her flesh.
“Tyree Smith is an individual with a psychiatric illness requiring care, custody and treatment,” the board stated in its report this week. “Since his last hearing Tyree Smith has continued to demonstrate clinical stability. Mr. Smith is medication compliant, actively engaged in all recommended forms of treatment, and has been symptom-free for many years.”

Michael J. Fox took a tumble during a “Back to the Future” panel at a fan convention on Sunday.
Fox, 61, attended the Fan Expo in Philadelphia along with his former co-stars from the film franchise for a Q&A at the Pennsylvania Convention Center. When Fox was introduced to the panel, he bowed to cast members Christopher Lloyd, 84, and Tom Wilson, 64, who were already onstage.
