When college kids showed more class than the WNBA I came across a very inspirational story yesterday. It was interesting because it provided a stark contrast to another story that’s been unfolding over the last few weeks. And the words “stark contrast” don’t adequately describe it. The inspirational story involved a game between two women’s college softball teams that took place in 2008. This was a crucial conference game that had playoff implications. A young woman named Sara Tucholsky, playing for Western Oregon, hit her first career home run. There were two runners on base and two outs. Ms. Tucholsky was a senior,

Not so long ago, I suggested that Hunter Biden is testing the waters for a presidential run. I was half joking, half not, as Mr. Biden has spent an inordinate amount of time out in public and on podcasts discussing politics and other matters, despite his claims that he is not running for office. I'm not the only one who has noticed. (X) Discussion about a potential Biden run is still confined to the fringes, but Biden himself has been out and about quite a bit, appearing on podcasts, promoting his paintings, talking about addiction (ah, a redemption story!), and opining about politics. A lot of opining about politics.

Fox Business correspondent Edward Lawrence recently reported on a big problem that the Biden administration left with the Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR). He explained to Fox News anchor Harris Faulkner how the SPR was now at a 43-year low, noting how the Biden administration had drained 180 million barrels before the 2022 midterm elections. It was clearly for political reasons to help in the elections, not for the reason you're supposed to do it - for emergencies in the market supply. Then Biden never fully refilled it, Lawrence explained. But it gets worse than that. (X) The current Undersecretary of Energy, Kyle Haustveit,

Texas Democrat candidate for U.S. Senate James Talarico is trapped between two oncoming trains that are about to crash into each other. On the one hand, Talarico has been having fundraising success, mostly because he's done a great job of pretending to moderate his positions on transgenderism and aberrant Christian views, while claiming he now wants to secure the border. However, this moderation is not sitting well with his far Left progressive base. Just last week, Talarico wrapped up a 750-mile bus tour from El Paso to the Rio Grande Valley, claiming he wanted to show up, listen and learn from the border communities.

Thanks to the U.S. Supreme Court decision in Little v. Hecox and West Virginia v. B.P.J., holding that states may reserve girls' and women's sports teams for biological females without violating Title IX or the Constitution, New Hampshire parents of transgender teenagers have dropped their lawsuits to allow their sons to play on the women's sports teams. One of the confused youth chose to stop playing on his soccer team because it was no longer fun. As our sister site Twitchy said, "That's as good as self-deporting." Exactly. Two transgender girls who were the first to challenge President Donald Trump’s executive order, “Keeping Men Out of Women’s Sports,”

We have all heard it many times. According to “journalists,” claims made by President Trump regarding election cheating are “unfounded,” “disproven,” and/or “debunked.” However, irrefutable evidence of large-scale 2020 election fraud exists. On Thursday night, the president outlined four specific areas of election concern. I’d like to address one of them: corrupt Michigan voter registrations in the 2020 election. Trump said, “Even when significant evidence of fraud has been detected, it has been buried and covered up.” The president is correct: Widespread evidence of Michigan fraud was detected before the 2020 election. After it was discovered and reviewed by the FBI, it was concealed by the Biden DOJ.

Well, Democrats in Maine really do have some special candidates to choose from. It took months but they finally got rid of Graham Platner after women came forward and accused him of abusive behavior and rape. Democrats finally decided that was a bad look and now they've had to rush to replace him with someone more agreeable. As of this weekend it seems clear that person is Troy Jackson. Troy Jackson has effectively secured the Democratic nomination in the crucial Maine Senate race, winning the support of a majority of the state delegates who will officially nominate a candidate next weekend.

How can one talk to the left when they deny reality? During the Iran-Iraq War, most people wanted both sides to lose. Israel, like the US and others, monitored the state of the war and, where needed, did its part to keep it going. At one point, the Israelis concluded that Iraq was getting the upper hand and needed to be checked. Through a kosher job placement company they ran in Paris, the Mossad was able to send two of its agents into Iraq to work with the Iraqi army motor pool. One fellow worked on trucks, causing the trailer to separate from the cab over a certain speed.

Last night’s Maine Democratic Senate debate to replace Graham Platner was a train wreck. Don't believe me? Feel free to check out this excellent rundown by my colleague, Nick Arama. Keep in mind that this not only looked like a train wreck, but it comes with the realization that this crop of misfit toys has only surfaced after the Democrats' previous muse, an accused rapist with a Nazi tattoo and an unhealthy fascination with portapotties, was forced out of the race. Among the new group was one candidate, Ashley Webb, who believes some of the best qualifications for serving in the Senate are writing songs and books.
Has Hakeem Jeffries Met Democrats? 11 replies

The season of triangulation is upon us. First, presidential aspirant Rahm Emanuel tried to establish a compromise position on Israel to stave off the Democratic Party’s anti-Zionist bull rush. Now that the bull rush is on, Hakeem Jeffries—who will be speaker of the House if Democrats win enough seats in November—is trying a similar tactic. Yesterday, more than 100 House Democrats voted to end aid to Israel. The battle appears lost—unsurprising, since the battle was almost entirely one-sided. So now Jeffries is negotiating the terms of his surrender, and those terms are similar to the ones Emanuel tried to sell to the same party. Via Jewish Insider, Jeffries outlined some familiar principles.

Abe Greenwald’s July 15 newsletter discussed a bizarre scene in which Rep. Ro Khanna, an anti-Israel demagogue testing a run for president, was repeatedly badgered by left-wing podcasters to say that Palestinians have a right to kill Israelis, which they did on October 7. The Dropsite podcasters were precisely the sort of company Khanna has been keeping lately—anti-Zionists obsessed with violence. As Abe wrote: “Khanna came face to face with the lunacy of the mob that he’s been trying to please with tweets, speeches, stunts. And he let [Jeremy] Scahill down by refusing to speak the monstrous words that would have admitted him into the esteemed ranks of the radicals.

Left-wing violence has become almost a daily fact of our political life. And I am not talking about the extreme left, I am talking about the left that represents the center of gravity in the Democratic Party. Congressman Adam Smith illustrates the point in the tweet embedded below. Smith, the ranking member of the House Armed Services Committee, is a former supporter of Israel who voted with 102 Democratic colleagues to cut off military aid to that country. Smith says he cast his vote to send a message to Prime Minister Netanyahu’s government, with which he is “frustrated.” But this is perhaps the more salient point: I am deeply concerned

A historic church in Buffalo, New York, caught fire again this week, and it was determined to be the result of arson. St. Ann’s Catholic Church was built in 1886. It permanently closed down in August 2024 and was sold to an Islamic community for $250,000. There is now a push to turn the historic Catholic church into a mosque. On Tuesday, a second fire tore through the church in one week. Last weekend, firefighters battled a three-alarm fire at the church. On Wednesday, investigators determined the fire was the result of arson. WGRZ reported:

Don't call it a library. The $1 billion Obama Presidential Center opened with huge fanfare last week in a park near the shore of Lake Michigan, but critics say what the public thinks is a library will function as the headquarters of Barack Obama’s private foundation, promoting the 44th president's left-wing worldview to future generations. (snip)The sprawling 19.3-acre campus will host various leadership programs, while spaces there include a "Democracy in Action Lab," conference facilities, foundation offices and a major athletic complex designed for youth sports and community programs — features not typically associated with a presidential library.

New York City has roughly 57,000 vacant rent-stabilized "zombie apartments," many of which landlords say cost more to repair and maintain than they could legally recover in rent. To illustrate the growing problem, a group of small property owners had actors dressed as zombies march outside a Rent Guidelines Board hearing in mid-June, warning that rising taxes, insurance, utilities, unpaid rent, and court delays are pushing their buildings toward insolvency. The board responded by approving a zero-percent rent increase, delivering on socialist Mayor Zohran Mamdani's campaign promise to freeze rents while doing nothing to reduce landlords' underlying costs.

If you wondered how communism has grabbed a foothold in the United States of America of all places, look no further than the Smithsonian Institution. The world’s largest and most influential museum has been hijacked by Marxist ideology to teach self-loathing anti-American woke propaganda to its 20 million annual visitors plus 20 million students a year. The Smithsonian teaches that “politeness,” “punctuality,” “objectivity” and “hard work” is white supremacy, and that Mickey Mouse is a form of blackface, while devoting not one major exhibit to George Washington or any of the Founding Fathers.

The House of Representatives in a bipartisan vote on Wednesday passed the "Stop Insider Trading Act," which bans lawmakers and their families from trading individual stocks. The bill passed in a 232-198 vote, with 13 Democrats supporting the legislation. A similar bill is in the Senate. Democrats who opposed the bill argued that it does not go far enough because it prohibits members of Congress and their families from buying new individual stocks, but it doesn't prevent them from owning them. "For too long, Americans struggling to make ends meet have watched as lawmakers have entered office just to leave as multi-millionaires,"

The scorching heat waves plaguing the U.K. and Europe this summer are primarily driven by a recent reduction in air pollution, according to a new study conducted by the Met Office — the U.K.’s climate change and national weather service — in conjunction with Spanish researchers. Europe has warmed at twice the rate of the rest of the world since the 1980’s, resulting in deadly heatwaves that environmental activists and politicians have attributed to carbon emissions. But according to the study, the opposite is true: Much of the increase in temperature can be attributed to Europe’s recent success in reducing

The plan would provide up to $73 billion in additional military funding for the conflict with Iran. The legislation also directs the House Agriculture Committee to write legislation that provides up to $12 billion for farmers —
