Might the reader be wondering whether the across-the-board Trump Deranged Syndrome-tinged legacy media response to The Donald’s Thursday night primetime address on election integrity reflected a predetermined and even pre-researched-and-written narrative?

The legacy media clearly came loaded for bear – ready to shoot down just about each and every point the president raised on his main issue.
Except one – regarding which the collective commentariat, based on your correspondent’s own rapid review, appeared to suffering from “a deplorable lack of curiosity,” as the fictionalized version of Captain Von Trapp phrased it in a film classic.

Four years ago, the Senate voted unanimously to ditch the switch and stick with daylight saving time year-round. Nineteen states have passed laws that would make DST permanent, if the federal government would let them. And this week, the House approved the Sunshine Protection Act by a 3-to-1 margin.
But don’t count on it becoming law.
As Politico reports, it “faces an uphill battle in the Senate despite strong lobbying from the White House and personal engagement from President Donald Trump.”
The problem is that enough Senators are likely to be swayed by critics to block it, even though the arguments against the bill are entirely specious.

With the sudden popularity of openly socialist candidates in recent local elections, is the U.S. turning into a socialist state? As the latest I&I/TIPP Poll shows, Americans mostly believe the country is indeed moving toward socialism, but don’t want to foot the bill for the big jump in taxpayer spending to pay for it.
The national online I&I/TIPP Poll was taken from June 29 through July 2, and kicked off by asking 1,473 voters whether they agreed or disagreed with the following question: “The U.S. is evolving into a big government socialist state.”
Overall, 48% agreed the U.S. was “evolving” toward socialism either “somewhat” (31%)
Finding out that, by a 3-to-2 margin, Americans think the country is “evolving into a big government socialist state” is bad enough. Far more worrisome is finding out how many Republicans and self-styled conservatives are on board with one of socialism’s central tenets.
The latest IBD/TIPP Poll, which we are reporting on today, finds that nearly half of Americans agree that we’re sliding into socialism, and less than a third disagree. (See: “By 3-To-2 Margin, Americans Believe U.S. Is Turning Into A ‘Socialist State’: I&I/TIPP Poll.”)
It also finds that Republicans are more pessimistic about the future than Democrats,

The national online I&I/TIPP Poll each month asks voters to grade the president’s performance. Voters are asked four questions, starting with: “Overall, is your opinion of Donald Trump generally favorable, generally unfavorable, or are you not familiar enough to to say one way or the other?”
For all the moral preening about Donald Trump’s character flaws, Democrats have shown in the past few months that there is no character flaw too great for them to endorse a candidate. Except one.
For today’s Democrats, It’s OK to be a communist. To sport a Nazi tattoo. Or to be a serial abuser of women.
Did you call on people to assassinate your opponent? No problem. Lie under oath? So what. Recently suffer a debilitating stroke? Don’t worry, we’ll all look the other way.
There is one and only one thing that Democrats cannot abide.
