A Texas House Democrat is claiming that there’s no biblical basis for Christians to oppose abortion. The lawmaker’s comments reflect a growing trend on the Left to twist or dismiss Scripture to justify its radical pro-abortion policies. However, for millions of Christians, the Bible is clear that life is sacred, and it begins in the womb.
During an appearance on the Joe Rogan Experience podcast, Texas House Democrat and self-described pastor James Talarico claimed there’s no biblical or historical foundation for Christians to oppose abortion or traditional marriage. Talarico argued that Christian beliefs against abortion

What is happening to Texas?

Yes, we know Satan can quote scripture to fit his needs. Nothing new here other than Texas being the front line for the Democrats and Islam to change the very fabric of the state.

Let me see if I understand. Is he is saying that if the Bible says nothing, then murdering unborn humans is justified? SMH.
This is classic liberalism. Disregard right and wrong and deflect with false argument.
Abortion on demand is obviously wrong, Bible teaching notwithstanding.
Anyway, liberals are atheists in the first place so they have no standing to interpret the things they already reject.

What's happening to Texas, poster #2? We've had a large influx of illegals from all parts of the world in the last few years, including muslims, election of delusional Democrats like this fellow Talarico, and even worse a nice crop of Rinos who despise their Conservative constituents and are aided and abetted by the usual suspects in the Enemedia. Top all that off with an influx of leftist fools from other states, more ballot fraud in major cities than has been noted historically, and a largely unsuspecting Texan population of all these things. That's what is going on in Texas! I think it'll get worse before, and if, it gets better.

I live in Texas, amc I've never heard of this clown.
#2, what is happening is the carefully orchestrated infiltration by Dems from liberal states (such as CA), as well as the flood of illegals across our state border for years.

This story is an other example of why it is not smart to base public policy on any religious belief. While the majority of America’s citizens are Christians our form of government is secular. Any one of any religion or of no religion can find that the murder of an unborn human being is evil and should be stopped.
Does the recent Supreme Court ruling that Christian parents can pull their children from transgender indoctrination at public school mean that parents of other faiths have to keep their children in such courses? I hope not.

Job 3:16 Or as an hidden untimely birth I had not been; as infants which never saw light.
Isaiah 49:1 Listen, O isles, unto me; and hearken, ye people, from far; The LORD hath called me from the womb; from the bowels of my mother hath he made mention of my name
Isaiah 44:24 thus saith the LORD, thy redeemer, and he that formed thee from the womb, I am the LORD that maketh all things
Prov. 31:8-9 Open thy mouth for the dumb in the cause of all such as are appointed to destruction. Open thy mouth, judge righteously, and plead the cause of the poor and needy.

And what does this expert on life, death and murder have to say about the first unalienable right endowed by our Creator on all humans in the U.S. Declaration of Indepence - "LIFE"?

? “...no biblical basis for Christians to oppose abortion.” ? / As a reminder to Pastor James Talarico:
Exodus 20 & Deuteronomy 5 - / The Ten Commandments: Thou shalt not murder.
Job 31:15 / Did not he who made me in the womb make him? And did not one fashion us in the womb?
Psalm 127:3 / Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward.
Psalm 139:13 / For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb.
Ecclesiastes 11:5 / As you do not know the way the spirit comes to the bones in the womb of a woman with child, so you do not know the work of God who makes everything.
Jeremiah 1:5 / Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.”
[Named in Bible before born: Ishmael Genesis 16:11 - Isaac Genesis 17:19 - Solomon 1 Chronicles 22:9 - Josiah 1 Kings 13:2 - Cyrus Isaiah 44:28 - John (Baptist) Luke 1:13 - JESUS Matthew 1:21]
Isaiah 49:5 / And now the Lord says, he who formed me from the womb to be his servant, to bring Jacob back to him; and that Israel might be gathered to him--for I am honored in the eyes of the Lord, and my God has become my strength—
John 1:4 / In him was life, and the life was the light of men.
It has been written, “The fact that Jesus’ human life began when He was ‘conceived by the Holy Spirit’ affirms that human life is present at the moment of conception.”
“When it comes to biology, the answer to the question of when life begins is not complicated. Embryologists tell us unequivocally that there is a new and unique human life at the moment of conception.”
Take heed: “See to it that no one takes you captive by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits of the world, and not according to Christ.” (Colossians 2:8)

Reply 7: our form of government is not secular. It is based upon the religious / Biblical concept of covenant, similar to that of ancient Israel and Mosaic Law. The American Constitution is a covenant between government and the citizens of the United States. It crafted the structure of our government, its boundaries/limits, and our rights under that covenant. While it does not specifally mention the word God, it appeals to Providence, which can only be provded by God and is His exclusive right/domain to give a righteous, God-honoring people.
Most of the 16th -17th century colonists to our nation came seeking religious freedom. So it is no surprise that the first provision in the First Amendment ro the Bill of Rights protects freedom of religion and religious expression. The French revolution produced a secular state. Ours did not. We are one of eleven nations with that constitutional proviso.
