The quaint Maine fishing villages that inspired Jessica Fletcher's beloved Cabot Cove could become dystopian, crime-ridden hellholes like San Francisco or Portland if progressive Maine lawmakers get their way. Members of the state legislature on Wednesday spent four hours debating whether to decriminalize all drugs in the Pine Tree State. Under the scheme proposed by Democrat representative Lydia Crafts even possessing heroin and cocaine would not be considered a criminal offense. Money spent on enforcing drugs laws would instead be directed to healthcare as part of a so-called 'harm reduction' strategy.

This is not a good idea. After spending 30+ yrs around people in recovery the total access to all drugs brings tragedy and incredible dysfunction. There needs to be strong pushback here.

Seems strange all those murders happened in Cabot Cove. The common factor: Jessica Fletcher. A serial killer masquerading as a crime solver.

Last year 150,000+ overdose drug deaths and on the way to 200,000+ very soon. Just what we need is more drug use. Harm reduction will only lead to more deaths, to wit SFO and PDX.

Word Correction: Do not use 'Progressive' when the correct term is 'Communist'. By using the words selected by the Evil ones, you are conceding the debate before it gets started. 'Progressive' implies 'progress', as in improvement. These people are not working to 'improve' anything. They are set on destroying America and the freedoms that made it great. As Mark Twain said: "Use the correct word, not it's second cousin."

There were once several thriving manufacturing busineses in Maine - like the shoe business - that moved out, taking many good jobs with them. Manufactuirng and selling drugs in the state is a poor replacement. Let us hope that President Trump will make the state a manufautirng and fishing state once again. China does not have a drug problem with its cirtizens because there are severe penalties for being a drug user in the country - death. Maine should not accommodate druggies in the state. There are healthier ways to make a buck.

An internal investigation has found that Joe Biden’s administration is failing to track foreign ownership of U.S. farmland, after it was recently discovered that the second-largest foreign landowner is a Chinese Communist Party (CCP) member. The Department of Agriculture (USDA) has not consistently shared timely data on foreign investments in farmland as required under the law, the investigation by the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) found. The accountability agency’s report, published Thursday, found that the USDA is not in compliance with the 1978 Agricultural Foreign Investment Disclosure Act (AFIDA), which requires information on foreign land investors to be logged in a database which is

It found nearly 60 percent of American “elites” think there is too much individual freedom in America. Meanwhile, nearly 60 percent of registered voters have the exact opposite opinion, reporting the United States has too much top-down control, limiting liberty. The study from the Committee to Unleash Prosperity found ruling class opinions on climate policies were particularly harsh and despotic. More than two-thirds of the 1 percent support rationing vital energy and food sources in an attempt to control the globe’s weather.

Back in the good old days of Roe v. Wade (unless you were a fetus) we paid poor people to have abortions. Ok, we didn’t pay the money directly to them, but instead paid it through Medicaid to their abortionist. Abortions that were not paid for by Medicaid were almost always paid for by private insurance or were done for free at abortion clinics as a “public service.” It’s safe to say that the killing of hardly any babies was paid for by the mother, except perhaps in a lifelong emotion way. That’s the way we set up the system. We didn’t want such women to have babies.

The signs claim the Transport Security Administration is working with Customs and Border Protection to “validate adult non-US citizen travel documentation when the traveler does not otherwise have an acceptable form of identification.”
