A Gallup poll released Tuesday showed that only 29% of Democrats express “extreme pride in being American,” compared to 60% of Republicans. “Party identification remains the greatest demographic differentiator in expressions of national pride, and Republicans have been consistently more likely than Democrats and independents to express pride in being American throughout the trend,” a Gallup summary of the poll said.“That gap has been particularly pronounced since 2018, with more than twice as many Republicans as Democrats saying they are extremely proud.

NBC BLK reporter Char Adams described in a recently-revived June essay several black-led outdoor groups working to 'provide safe spaces for black people to enjoy outdoor activities and dispel myths that the outdoors doesn't belong to us.'
