Joe Biden Orders Pete Buttigieg and Federal

President Joe Biden on Wednesday responded to the news of a catastrophic Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) computer outage by ordering the department to turn the systems back on. “The president directed DOT/FAA to restore the system quickly and safely, and to determine causes,” White House chief of staff Ron Klain informed the public on social media, asserting that Biden was on top of the situation. (Tweet) The system outage caused thousands of flight delays across the country on Wednesday morning, as the FAA ordered all flights to delay departures until at least 9:00 am.

I wouldn’t fly anywhere right now. But Biden was probably a pilot too, and has great knowledge on these things. He probably told them how to fix it. As for Biden being on top of it, he probably doesn’t know what DOT/FAA even stands for. Jeez, we are so screwed, but he’s got Air Force one and a Fenced in beach house, so his world is just perfect.

I've got a big chunk of my family in the air right now. I hope the problem was fixed by people who know what they are doing BEFORE they responded to President Potato Heads "order." It's awful to have ZERO trust in our authorities. Are the smartest people handling the situation...or are they a team of "firsts?" I just heard the name of the NOTAM (notice to air missions) system was changed recently from Notice to Airmen to be more inclusive. Priorties, priotities.

The only thing that was screwed up was the part of air traffic control that controlled NOTAM - notices to airmen. It’s usually mundane stuff like runway closures or certain navaids they're having trouble with. Commercial flights could have continued unabated with no problem. This is Bravo Sierra.

Yeah, no. I don't believe Biden told Petey to do anything. I do believe Ron Klain is capable of doing the deed however. About 30 years ago, I do remember reading about how overstretched and out of date the FAA system is. That system needs a major overhaul and should be getting all the funds for upgrades instead of Ukraine.

Joe Biden's best two months since becoming president ended on the evening of January 9, when White House lawyers revealed that classified materials from Biden's years as vice president had been stored in his Washington, D.C., office between 2017 and 2019. A few days later, the White House confirmed that additional secret papers had been found inside Biden’s garage in Wilmington, Delaware. On January 12, attorney general Merrick Garland appointed a special counsel to investigate whether Biden broke the law and revealed that another document had been recovered. And the scandal grew. Biden lapsed into legalese. The West Wing built a stonewall in the press room.
