Online shoppers set new Thanksgiving day record replies

Americans set a new record Thanksgiving day record, spending $5.29 billion in online shopping on Thursday. Thursday's amount represented a 2.9% increase from last year. Shoppers typically spend about $2 billion to $3 billion online in one day, according to data shared by Adobe. Mobile shopping -- purchases made through smartphones -- accounted for 55% of online sales, an all-time record for Thanksgiving Day since 2012. Vivek Pandya, a lead analyst at Adobe, told CNBC that the increase was driven by demand, as consumers shrugged off record-high levels of inflation. Online sales haven't been driven higher by inflation like store sales, since e-commerce is largely made up of electronics, apparel and other durables

The University of Idaho is offering remote classes for the rest of the semester after students refused to come back to campus following the brutal murders of four peers.  President Scott Green announced on Wednesday that the school 'hears' the students concerns and will be offering remote and in-person classes to all students for the rest of the semester.  'We have heard from students with varied needs [and] some are not comfortable being back in Moscow until a suspect is in custody. Others are asking for in-person classes and the structure that life on campus brings,' Green said.

Not a week had gone by after the midterm elections before California governor Gavin Newsom’s presidential possibilities were being talked up. A Republican consultant even suggested Joe Biden ask for Kamala Harris’ resignation and appoint Newsom as his vice-president. Biden could then either resign himself, leaving Newsom president, or position him to run as semi-incumbent in 2024. No matter what turns the journey takes, there will be a train wreck at the station. Don’t be fooled by the governor’s margin of victory this year (59-41) and in 2018 (62-38). He has done nothing in his public life that recommends him for the presidency. Popular, yes, competent, no.

Trump-backed Kelly Tshibaka isn’t holding back following her senate loss to GOP incumbent Sen. Lisa Murkowski, showering blame on establishment Republicans whom she said prefer an easily controlled Senate minority rather than a majority with varied opinions. “It is regrettable that Sen. Mitch McConnell spent millions of dollars in this race on deceptive ads to secure what he wanted – a Senate minority that he can control, as opposed to a majority that he could not,” Tshibaka said. “Donors’ money would have been better spent in other states to elect more Republicans that would have secured a majority in the Senate.”

A Democrat has suddenly become an “election denier” after her race was narrowly overturned following the sudden discovery of missing votes on a memory card. The previously uncounted votes on a memory card changed the election outcome in Cobb County, Georgia, officials say. Madelyn Orochena had announced her win on social media for the Kennesaw City Council Special Post 1 seat when the results first came in. “Feeling excited and so grateful! It’s a win! See you Monday,” Orochena wrote in the social media post. However, Orochena’s victory was short-lived, after the memory card were discovered last Wednesday.

The USMNT hung with England for 94 minutes on Friday, but that was all they were able to do. The sides played to a scoreless draw in their group stage matchup, putting the Americans in a must-win situation in their opening round finale against Iran. “We’re proud, but our work isn’t done,” U.S. coach Gregg Berhalter told Fox Sports, adding more goals is what he’d like to see. “We have to win on Tuesday.” (Photo) Christian Pulisic came closest among the sides to scoring, putting a shot from the left side of the box off the crossbar in the 33rd minute. More than 70 per cent of children aged 7-12 are now afraid of climate change according to the results of a survey. More than seven in ten children aged 7-12 are now worried about climate change, research conducted by a UK-based start-up has reportedly found. It comes amid reports from various experts that children and teenagers of various demographics are experiencing high rates of mental health difficulties, with one school councillor earlier this year saying that anxiety rates have hit an all-time high post-lockdown. According to a report by Euronews, the survey — which polled 1,000 children born between 2010 and 2015 on their views regarding the environment — found

The Taliban this week conducted its first public flogging in a soccer stadium since the 1990s. The group of 14 were whipped in front of a crowd on Wednesday in Logar province. A Taliban statement proudly boasted that in attendance at the stadium to witness the punishment was a crowd of "scholars, authorities, and people."

She tweeted that "for so many reasons" Thanksgiving should be canceled, winter holidays should be moved to the summer, and winter holidays should be more "hygge," or cozy. He achieved this by encouraging containment measures never used in modern history and gaslighting America about everything from cloth masks to the efficacy of experimental vaccines. So, it is only fitting that he ended his leadership of the Covid response by lying to Americans again. During the presser, he said: If you look

Their lies and misinformation simply escaped all scrutiny. Censorship has been deployed as a one-way operation against conservatives @elonmusk.” The new owner of Twitter agreed with that assessment, responding the next day, “Correct.” D’Souza then tweeted, “Nice to get validated here by Twitter’s senior fact checker.”

For many Republicans, the final midterm election results were surprising— especially in the states of Arizona, Nevada, and Pennsylvania. Based on polling, it looked likely that Kari Lake, Adam Laxalt, and Mehmet Oz would win their contests. I believe that there are only three likely explanations for the unexpected results: late campaign surges, polling error, or aggressive ballot-harvesting. A late surge? Some Republicans are falling for an illogical narrative put forth by Democrats and the mainstream media.
