According to a recent report, Twitter owner Elon Musk is considering laying off even more of Twitter’s workforce, this time focusing on the company’s sales and partnerships division. Bloomberg reports that employees in the sales and partnership division of Twitter may be terminated as soon as early this week, according to people familiar with the matter. A number of Twitter employees resigned from the company last week after Musk gave them an ultimatum — work long hours on a “hardcore” version of Twitter or leave with three months of severance pay. However, according to sources, more employees in technical roles than expected opted to leave, compared to those in

One way to make Twitter profitable is to cut staff and perks. I've never worked at a job that had wine on tap, free meals, and unlimited working from home in my PJs. Welcome to the real world, kids.

From all I've read (mainly just the hysterical headlines), the only person left for Musk to fire is Musk.

Chesapeake, Va. (WAVY) — Chesapeake police say the suspect behind a mass shooting at a Walmart just off Battlefield Blvd. is dead. It’s still unclear just how many people were killed or injured in the shooting, but police say there are multiple of both. A police spokesperson told WAVY’s Michelle Wolf that no more than 10 people have died. Police are still going through the building and people are asked to steer clear. The call reporting the shooting came in at 10:12 p.m. Tuesday. The Walmart supercenter was open to the public at the time.

Rep. Kevin McCarthy, who is expected to be the next House speaker, gave Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas an ultimatum: resign or face an impeachment inquiry. “Our country may never recover from Secretary Mayorkas’ dereliction of duty. This is why today I am calling on the secretary to resign,” McCarthy said. “If Secretary Mayorkas does not resign, House Republicans will investigate every order, every action and every failure. And we will determine whether we can begin an impeachment inquiry.” The stark warning is a significant change in tone from McCarthy

Late on Tuesday night, court filings by the attorneys for the alleged shooter from the LGBTQ night club in Colorado Springs, Colorado revealed the shooter is non-binary and goes by they/them pronouns. After spending the past two days smearing conservative Christians for allegedly inspiring this apparent attack against gay people, CNN Tonight anchor Alisyn Camerota was clearly stunned as she watched her network’s narrative come crashing down. Breaking the news to her audience, Camerota begrudgingly reported that the “attorneys for the accused shooter, Anderson Lee Aldrich, say in new court filings tonight that the suspect now identifies as non-binary.”

A fun leftover from yesterday, in which the Paper of Record tries to answer the age-old question: Are the tweets bluer on the other side of the fence? Excuse me, the toots? The New York Times took a closer look at the new Mastodon instant-messaging platform to which reporters of all stripes — but mainly progressives — have recently decamped. The selling point for the service is its decentralization as well as its collaborative moderation, at least theoretically. In practice, however, it looks more like a confused mess where “journalists” eat their own rather than practice tolerance, including at the node funded in large part by the J-school at CUNY:

It appears the left has been peddling yet another false narrative. The New York Times reported on Tuesday night that the alleged gunman who carried out a mass shooting at an LGBTQ club in Colorado identifies as “non-binary.” According to a court filing, the suspect’s public defenders note that Anderson Aldrich, the suspected shooter, uses “they/them” pronouns. New York Times reporter Nicholas Bogel-Burroughs posted a tweet that the defense attorneys refer to the defendant as “Mx. Anderson Aldrich.” Aldrich is currently being held on suspicion of murder and hate crimes, in connection to the shooting at Club Q, which occurred on Saturday night. He was injured after patrons

HP Inc. announced on Tuesday that it will lay off thousands of workers over the next three years, becoming the latest tech company to significantly downsize staffing amid a souring economic climate. The computer maker disclosed the major job cuts in a statement accompanying its lackluster quarterly earnings report on Tuesday afternoon, where it also said sales dropped more than 11% compared to the same period last year. "The company expects to reduce gross global headcount by approximately 4,000-6,000 employees," HP said. "These actions are expected to be completed by the end of fiscal 2025."

Donald Trump’s money-losing app Truth Social has been spared from a possible shutdown in the coming weeks after investors voted to extend a deadline on a deal to give the company a major cash injection. More than 65% of investors in Digital World Acquisition Corp. — the blank-check company that has agreed to acquire Truth Social — voted Tuesday to give the merger until September 2023 to close. The fledgling social network will be forced to raise additional cash to keep operating in the meantime, during which the so-called special-purpose acquisition company, or SPAC, will seek approval from the Securities and Exchange Commission for the deal, sources told The Post.

If owning the libs was a sport, Elon Musk would be competing for a national championship. The billionaire, who had never even voted for a Republican until recently, has been forced into an adversarial relationship with the left simply for supporting the basic principle of free speech. Yet, despite their vitriol, Musk did attempt to offer them an olive branch shortly after completing his deal to buy Twitter. Early on, much to the chagrin of conservatives, he set up a “content moderation council” that was supposed to meet and decide just how free the speech on the social media site would be. Those present

Meta shares jumped 1% Tuesday on an apparently false report that top boss Mark Zuckerberg was planning to step down as CEO in 2023. The report — which was quickly denied by Meta — came as Zuckerberg faces mounting pressure from furious shareholders who have grumbled about his rampant spending on the metaverse. Online chatter surged after an outlet called the Leak published a report around 9 a.m. ET, citing an unnamed source who claimed that Zuckerberg had “decided to step down” next year as the company contended with a significant decline in profits. Meta’s stock rose slightly in early trading after the report surfaced,

The admission came Tuesday during FTX's first court appearance since the company declared bankruptcy. Such hearings typically happen days after a filing, but this one was delayed because FTX's collapse came suddenly and management kept few if any records. "This company was run by inexperienced, unsophisticated and potentially personally compromised individuals," said James Bromley, a partner at Sullivan & Cromwell, the law firm hired by FTX's debt holders to navigate

Did the United States suddenly become a socialist basket case? It’s hard not to come to that conclusion after reading about the endless shortages plaguing the nation. Each of which President Joe Biden either seems clueless to resolve or determined to make worse. Let’s start with the biggest one: the shortage of diesel fuel. While Biden was busy draining the Strategic Petroleum Reserve to tamp down gas prices before the midterm elections, the real worry was that supplies of diesel fuel have been running short. Two years after the short-lived COVID lockdowns ended, diesel inventories continued to trend downward

Hey, their Akin strategy worked in New Hampshire, didn’t it? And in Arizona, Nevada, and Pennsylvania too, for that matter. Democrats spent a reported $53 million boosting what Joe Biden calls “ultra-MAGA” candidates into nominations for key Senate and House races in order to protect vulnerable incumbents or open seats. And since that strategy largely worked, we can expect Democrats to try it again in 2024. And who better to promote than the ultra-MAGAiest MAGA of all? Georgia Republican Marjorie Taylor Greene was kicked off of her committees just a month after her congressional inauguration.
