The Congressional Hispanic Caucus (CHC) denied Republican Texas Rep. Mayra Flores’ request to join their group because she is a Republican.
Flores requested to join CHC in early October but was quickly rejected, Townhall first reported. Flores, who took office in June after winning a special election in Texas’ 34th Congressional District, is the first Mexican-born woman to serve in Congress.
According to a statement from the CHC, Flores will not be allowed to join the group due to bylaws that state the CHC is for only Democratic members of Congress. The CHC also said Flores has “Extreme MAGA values.”

Obviously this caucus does nothing to improve the lives of Hispanic Americans. They are only concerned with their own power. It would be better for Representative Flores’ to stay away from them. They would only treat her poorly.

Sounds like a call to the ACLU is in order. That or an immediate renaming of the group to Democrat La Raza Caucus.

Isn't extreme MAGA values redundant? Are there slightly deplorable Republicans?

Actually it could be a blessing. Why would anyone want to be associated with a bunch of big government supporting socialist leeches who don't want to hear from people who have different ideas?

Maybe Flores should join the Black Caucus if she finds the need to be in a group within a group in Congress. Useless, racist, separatist is all they are. All these sub-groups should be dissolved anyway.

Not surprised. Several years ago a black Republican was denied membership in the Congressional Black Caucus. Can’t remember who it was but I’m sure that someone here can.

Why do these race centric caucuses still exist? A member of Congress should what is best for his/her constituents because we are all Americans. Not because they're Hispanic or Asian or Black Americans. So sick of the hyphenated American.
I live in the new 10th CONgressional District her win Virginia and the Republican (Hung Cao) running to replace Rep. Wexton (D) is an American who was born in Vietnam and who with his parents and siblings fled Vietnam after the fall and eventually emmigrated to the USA. As far as I can tell, he doesn't describe himself as an Asian or Vietnamese American but as an American.

Mayra Flores doesn’t need the Hispanic Caucus because she is much better than those who serve on that caucus. She serves to better all Americans and MAGA.

There is no such thing as the Congressional Hispanic Caucus, what there is throughout the Congress today is a Democrat Congressional Hispanic Caucus that has no place for Republican Hispanic Members of Congress. Especially a conservative Hispanic woman like Mayra Flores who reportedly is married to a U.S. Border Patrol Agent.

If the Hispanic Causus only allows Democrats, they need to change their name to the Congressional DEMOCRAT Latinix Caucus (to use the correct Democrat Woke PC terms). This will give everyone a more clear picture of what the group really represents. Flores can just start her own group, the Congressional Conservative Caucus, and welcome people of all races / color to demonstrate that Conservatives do not discriminate against anyone.

The CHC refused admittance of a republican Hispanic. Previously, the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) refused admittance of a republican African American. They should just call their groups Congressional Democrat Caucus.

From now one, all conservatives in Congress should refer to this group at the Congressional Democrat Hispanic Caucus.

Scratch a democrat reveal a racist. Democrats just cannot escape their history. Listen to a conversation between libs and they invariably will show themselves to be bigots. They all have their biases not to say the right has none, but democrats are far more likely to make racists comments. It is all about the pecking order, the hierarchy. Democrats are very much attuned with the unspoken caste system in the country and if you are not considered one of them, you are nothing. The right is not sinless in this regard but on the whole the majority of conservatives really don’t care what color you are. It’s all about your character, work ethic, and values. It is democrats who look through the lens of race and group think. I am not surprised by this snub of Ms. Flores and am sure she is not either. Democrats cannot abide any opposition. They can only function in a like minded atmosphere, no dissenting thought allowed. It hurts their little psyche.

This is a teaching moment for hispanic voters. Democrats don’t care about them or what they care about. They just need their votes. More and more of them are starting to get it.

The two caucuses would have their average IQ raised astronomically if they started to let republicans in. It would make the existing members feel even more inferior than they do now. Most of their public statements come across as racist, self-serving and full of hatred.

I don't think its just because she is a Republican, I suspect if she was a RINO she'd be let in.

NOT being a Democrat is worth a lot more points than just one. In fact, I wish I could vote for Mrs. Flores in Texas. It would surely confuse all those go-red-gop calls I have to ignore on an hourly basis. The folks who signed up to make calls for GOP candidates must think I'm an awful dope when they claim Trump, DeSantis, Walker, Johnson, etc., etc., are actually sending me the whining texts to send $13 more dollars to help push someone I never heard of over the top.
