De Blasio draws ire from locals while

Mayor de Blasio did not receive a warm welcome Monday as he visited a Queens neighborhood ravaged by Ida, with local residents painting him as clueless for insisting that the city did the best it could to safeguard against the storm. After surveying the extensive damage on a low-lying block in Woodside, the mayor told reporters that the storm was an unforeseeable anomaly in that it submerged sections of the city that he said didn’t use to see much flooding.(Snip)“They swore that it wouldn’t happen again, and that they would fix the sewers,” Lizal said of the reaction from city officials in 2008. “And here we are again

Comments:

Governments refuse to keep storm sewers clean, then blame Climate Change when it rains. How clever is that?

I don't mean to be unkind but these fools keep voting the dems in and they NECER sole any problems. All lip service, blame others and photo ops. I do not understand why "people-of-color" keep doing the same. Dems have had control for decades. Nothing changes for the positive for them and yet they continue to vote them right back into office. I have no sympathy anymore. Tired of listening and reading about it.

Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich said on Tuesday that the city of Tucson‘s COVID-19 vaccine mandate for public employees violates state law and the governor’s executive order. The city must either revoke or amend the ordinance to align with state law or risk losing millions in state funding, the attorney general’s office said in a statement. “Tucson‘s vaccine mandate is illegal, and the city could be held liable for attempting to force employees to take it against their beliefs,” said Mr. Brnovich, a Republican. “COVID-19 vaccinations should be a choice, not a government mandate.” Arizona lawmakers passed a law during this year’s legislative session that prohibits city governments

Breakthrough infections might be a significant part of the latest pandemic wave—with 15,819 coronavirus infections found in fully vaccinated Minnesotans—but state health officials and Mayo Clinic researchers say immunization remains a critical way to reduce severe COVID-19 risks. The new breakthrough total, reported Tuesday by the Minnesota Department of Health, included 3,260 coronavirus infections identified in the past week out of more than 3 million fully vaccinated Minnesotans. The total includes 957 people with breakthrough infections who were hospitalized and 93 COVID-19 deaths. Nearly 30% of positive COVID-19 tests in August involved Minnesotans who had been fully vaccinated
