The tragedy of the Texas COVID-crats

Original Article

Last week, Texas Democrats fled the state on a chartered plane to Washington DC, maskless with a case of Miller Lite in tow, to a chorus of whoops and cheers of our national media. As Texas attempts to pass new election integrity legislation, or to Democrats and our media writ large, ‘voting restrictions’, Texas Democrats decided to object to the Senate filibuster, by participating in a filibuster. They were doing the rounds on CNN and MSNBC, appearing on morning shows or being celebrated on them (The View). The irony of celebrating a minority party as ‘brave’ few for mucking up the legislative process was apparently completely lost

I'm not totally convinced that the RATS on the run in DC actually got the plague, but are playing the game to avoid showing up.

Regardless of what game they are playing, they are playing it badly. They have made complete fools of themselves starting with their maskless private plane flight with a case of beer occupying a seat. They do not have a majority in the Texas State Legislature but still think they should be calling the shots. They think that overriding the 86% of the country that backs voter ID laws will make them popular. They are very stupid people. That’s why they’re the minority.

If they don't get arrested upon their return to Texas, a lot of Republican voters are going to stay home next election.

There are thousands of mail in ballots flooding across the border. Who says Texas can't turn blue? These democrats will be living on easy street if that happens - unless they get voted out by other democrats.

With a case of Miller Lite instead of Shiner? They're not really Texans.

Watch: Conservative Stuns CNN Panel With
Fauci Criticism, Mocks Media ‘Fangirling’

CNN anchor John Avlon was viably stunned and appalled when conservative commentator Mary Katharine Ham criticized Dr. Anthony Fauci for losing Americans’ trust and ripped the media for “fangirling” over the powerful bureaucrat, rather than ask him important tough questions. After the liberal CNN panelists and coanchors roundly ridiculed Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) for questioning Fauci, Avlon turned his intention to Ham, asking her about the “conservative decision to demonize Anthony Fauci.” “So what’s the game here? What is the purpose of this fixation on attacking Anthony Fauci?” Avlon asked, according to NewsBusters.

Following a day off due to President Biden’s CNN town hall in Ohio, Thursday’s White House press briefing gave us another welcome surprise as Press Secretary Jen Psaki found herself under the gun from not just Fox’s Peter Doocy, but a variety of reporters on issues such as Covid cases inside the administration, Critical Race Theory, Hunter Biden’s artwork, and masking. Just as her colleague Weijia Jiang called out Hunter’s sketchy arrangement on July 9, CBS chief White House correspondent Nancy Cordes hammered home the fact that he’s “going to be able to meet with prospective buyers at two art shows where his paintings are going to be on display”

The spread of the Wuhan coronavirus in the U.S. has accelerated, apparently due mainly to the delta variant. Last month, reported new cases were averaging around 17,000 per day, according to Worldometer. Now, they are averaging around 40,000 per day. The good news is that deaths attributed to the virus aren’t increasing. A month ago, the daily death count was said to be around 350-400 per day. Now it’s slightly lower — more like 300 per day. Both totals represent a decrease from May, when the daily death count was coming in at more than 600. What explains the fact that cases have increased, but not deaths?

The curriculum-writing team in a suburban St. Louis school district plotted with a critical race theory advocate on how to keep parents in the dark about their efforts to inject leftwing social justice advocacy into their classrooms, according to a video of their meeting leaked online. The video, posted on rumble.com in early July, is alleged to be a condensed version of a September 2020 webinar that members of the Francis Howell School District’s curriculum-writing team participated in. The webinar was hosted by their equity consultant, LaGarrett J. King, an associate professor of social studies education at the University of Missouri. He was described on the call as a specialist

On Wednesday night, President Biden was granted the second town hall of his presidency (with the first in February and the third in the last year) by his adoring fanboys and girls at CNN and, not surprisingly, the Jeffrey Zucker-led network made sure that the 80-minute event was little more than a foot-message (or smelling of the hair since that suits his fancy). Along with an eight-to-three split in Democrat to Republican audience questioners, CNN Tonight host Don Lemon repeatedly inserted himself in trying to help Biden along, press him from the left, and offer only one real challenging moment. The most noteworthy audience question

During his Wednesday night CNN town hall, President Joe Biden talked about a “push to eliminate” 9mm pistols that have an ammunition capacity beyond that of which the left approves. Biden said, “The idea you need a weapon that can have the ability to fire 20, 30, 40, 50, 120 shots from that weapon, whether it’s a 9mm pistol or whether it’s a rifle, is ridiculous. I’m continuing to push to eliminate the sale of those things.” Up until now, Biden has pushed “assault weapons” ban legislation and moved executively to have the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) take regulatory action

St. Petersburg, Fla. — Gov. Ron DeSantis was in St. Petersburg to discuss red tide on Wednesday, but took time to answer questions and address Florida’s recent spike in coronavirus cases and stress the importance of the COVID vaccine. “Here’s, I think, the most important thing with the data: if you are vaccinated, fully vaccinated, the chance of you getting seriously ill or dying from COVID is effectively zero,” DeSantis said. “If you look at the people who are being admitted to hospitals, over 95 percent of them are either not fully vaccinated or not vaccinated at all. As we reported earlier, Joe Biden’s CNN town hall did not go well. He completely lost his mind, talked about aliens, praised Xi Jing Ping, and told several lies. But other than that, great job! But one lie he told was just so shocking, in light of what we know, it deserved to be highlighted with a post all its own, for how breathtakingly false it was. Biden has spent months focused on pitching vaccinations. Despite that, he failed to meet his vaccination goals. But when he spoke about vaccinations on the town hall he said something shockingly untrue. Talk about misinformation. This is a big honking example of that, right here.

President Joe Biden’s administration is weighing the idea of more mask mandates for Americans during the coronavirus pandemic — even if they are vaccinated, according to a report published Wednesday. Details of the masking discussions were reported by the Washington Post. The White House is weighing these options as the “Delta variant” of the virus is spreading, even among the vaccinated. The report noted that federal health officials are considering whether they would update masking guidance, asking all Americans to wear masks indoors in public places. The White House would likely face strong pushback from vaccinated Americans

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) on Tuesday insisted he will not implement another statewide mask mandate as calls for reinstating such restrictions grow nationwide. “There will be no mask mandate imposed, and the reasons for that are very clear,” Abbott said during a Tuesday interview. “There are so many people who have immunities to COVID [Chinese coronavirus], whether it be through the vaccination, whether it be through their own exposure and their recovery from it, which would be acquired immunity,” he explained, adding it would be “inappropriate to require people who already have immunity to wear a mask.”

We’ve all seen this before, as has every leader of every country in the world. A sitting President of the United States cannot put together a coherent answer to a simple question. (snip) Asked an unchallenging question of 12-year-olds and vaccination, he drifted off in the middle of a sentence, and, as he so often does, looked down, got that Deliverance banjo player look on his face, and appeared to be listening to something in his earpiece, and then strung together a sequence of words that were not grammatically related to the rest of the sentence, but which, on their own, were coherent.

The NFL has laid out its strongest incentive yet for players to get the vaccine. According to a memo shared on Twitter by NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the league has mandated that a game cannot be rescheduled due to a COVID-19 outbreak among unvaccinated players — and that team will be forced to forfeit, resulting “in a loss for playoff seeding.” (Snip) Additionally, if a game is canceled and cannot be rescheduled, neither team’s players will be paid for the game. Vaccinated players who test positive can return to the team immediately after two negative tests, while unvaccinated players will be required to isolate for 10 days, according to the memo.

A group of scientists discovered ancient viruses frozen in two ice samples taken from the Tibetan Plateau in China, and most of them are unlike anything ever seen before. The findings, published Wednesday in the journal Microbiome, came from ice cores taken in 2015 that scientists said began to freeze at least 14,400 years ago. (Snip) When researchers analyzed the ice, they found genetic codes for 33 viruses. Of the 33, genetic codes for four of them showed they are part of virus families that typically infect bacteria. Up to 28 were novel, meaning they had never before been identified.

Attorney General Merrick B. Garland will visit Chicago Thursday afternoon to launch the strike forces, which will also be set up in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Washington, D.C. The units will share information and coordinate the prosecution of gun crimes across multiple jurisdictions. They are part of President Biden’s Violent Crime Reduction Initiative announced last month in response to an uptick in violent crimes across the country, particularly shootings and homicides.

A federal judge blocked a West Virginia law banning transgender athletes from competing in girls sports, saying the legislation likely runs afoul of the Constitution. Judge Joseph R. Goodwin, a Clinton appointee, said if West Virginia wants to treat people differently, there must be a compelling reason to do so. “I have been provided with scant evidence that this law addresses any problem at all, let alone an important problem,” the judge wrote in a 15-page opinion. West Virginia Gov. Jim Justice, a Republican, signed the Save Women’s Sports bill in April.
