Liz Cheney claimed Trump did 'the most dangerous thing' a president has ever done by 'inciting' the January 6 Capitol attack as she revealed many GOP lawmakers didn't vote for impeachment because they feared for their safety. 'I think what Donald Trump did is the most dangerous thing, the most egregious violation of an oath of office of any president in our history,' Cheney told David Axelrod on an episode of his The Axe Files podcast, which was recorded Saturday but released Monday.'I have had a number of members say to me, 'we would have voted to impeach, but we were concerned about our security,''

Adversaries to the US are capable of shutting down the nation’s electrical grid, Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm admitted Sunday, saying that such cybersecurity attacks are “happening all the time.” Granholm warned of the system’s vulnerabilities—amid an uptick of ransomware sieges—on CNN’s “State of the Union.” “Yeah, they do,” Granholm told host Jake Tapper when asked if foreign actors have the ability to make the power grid go dark. “There are very malign actors who are trying, even as we speak,” she explained. “There are thousands of attacks on all aspects of the energy sector and the private sector generally.”

Late Friday the British publication DailyMail reported that the United States Department of Defense provided $39 million in grant funding to “EcoHealth Alliance” as part of the aggregated grant funding received by EcoHealth Alliance to conduct various types of “gain of function” virus research – a type of research in which scientists engineer viruses to make them more transmissible or lethal and which can be used to create bioweapons.
EcoHealth Alliance used a large amount of its funding to support research projects on the subject at the Wuhan Institute of Virology, led by Chinese “bat virus” expert Dr. Shi Zenglhi — the “Bat Lady.”

“Damning” science strongly suggests that COVID-19 is a man-made monster, optimized in a lab for maximum infectivity before hitting the outside to catastrophic effect, two experts said Sunday. Writing in an opinion piece for The Wall Street Journal, Dr. Steven Quay and Richard Muller pointed to two key pieces of evidence to support the claim, which has increasingly gained steam after long being derided as little more than speculation.(Snip) The pair noted that the double CGG sequence has never been found naturally among the entire group of coronaviruses that includes CoV-2, which causes COVID-19. But, in what Quay and Muller called

A family of six came under fire along a stretch of Missouri highway last week while on their way to vacation, and a 22-year-old mother is accused of pulling the trigger. According to police, the family from Tennessee was heading to Kansas City on I-55 in their Nissan Pathfinder on Friday when a Ford Focus started tailgating the SUV. The Pathfinder driver braked to tell the Focus to slow down or go around, KMOV reported. The Focus sped up, got next to the Pathfinder, and the passenger, Shanyka Fouche, pulled out a gun and began shooting, police told KMOV. Bullets flew

Former President Obama criticized voting laws being passed by Republicans across the country, saying that such changes to the voting system is "rigging the game."
He said during an Economic Club of Chicago event Friday about the new election integrity law in Georgia:
That's the kind of dangerous behavior that we're going to have to push back on.
Obama suggested that urban areas will face more barriers in order to vote, alleging that the law made a "different set of rules for how votes are counted in Atlanta versus how they're counted in the rest of Georgia."

Dr Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease, says the latest round of conservative attacks against him are "nonsense" attacks on science. The doctor appeared on Rachel Maddow's show on MSNBC to discuss a trove of emails of his that were obtained by BuzzFeed News and The Washington Post that are at the heart of the recent criticisms. "Dr Fauci is the subject—in a negative way—of every hour on Fox News prime time now, where they think he can somehow be blamed for causing Covid or something, since he's the country's lead scientist on it. Or maybe he's a secret Chinese communist.

President Joe Biden told new graduates that systemic racism is one of the 'greatest crises of our time' and said it was an 'inflection point' similar to the Vietnam War. Biden's brief video message to graduates was released by the White House under his @POTUS address as the coronavirus pandemic has put a dent in commencement ceremonies. Comparing today's students to those who graduated during the era of the civil rights and anti-war protest movements, Biden encouraged them to seize the moment to tackle climate change and systemic racism which he described as one of 'the great crises of our time'.

Twice-failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton weighed in on Republican state legislatures pursuing basic election integrity measures in their respective states, contending that it “shouldn’t be a partisan issue” to reject such efforts.
In a Monday social media post, Clinton likened the left’s radical attempt to overhaul U.S. election — stripping states of basic election safeguards such as voter ID — to “preserving America’s democracy.”
“Preserving America’s democracy shouldn’t be a partisan issue. But the fact is that Republican-led legislatures have enacted at least 22 news laws this year restricting access to voting,” she claimed alongside a map from the Brennan Center for Justice.

Representative Adam Schiff (D-CA), chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, Sunday on MSNBC’s “Alex Witt Reports” called the Republican Party “anti-democratic.”
Witt said, “Here is something that investigative reporters have gotten ahold of from The New York Times. They report that in Donald Trump’s final weeks in office, his chief of staff, Mark Meadows, repeatedly pushed the Justice Department to investigate unfounded conspiracy theories about the 2020 presidential election. This is according to newly-uncovered emails provided to Congress. What new layer does this add to the effort to undermine the election results? How serious is this direct link to the Oval Office and Donald Trump?”
Schiff said, “It’s very serious.

A small group of violent actors that comprise some 13% of the US population, yet commit the bulk of the violent crimes? Sounds like dogwhistle racism to me. Especially during graduation season, which everyone knows is a time of heightened sensitivities in The Community.
