Springfield, Ohio—Despite Governor Mike DeWine sharing that two suspects were in custody after a shooting in Springfield, police have yet to corroborate his claim. They are asking that anyone with information come forward so that they can help bring closure to the victims and keep the streets safe. The shooting started shortly after 1:45 a.m. Wednesday morning. Six people were sent to the hospital, one person was taken by CareFlight to Miami Valley Hospital after being shot in the chest. The victims range in age from 20 to 25.(Snip) The young man being celebrated had been lost to violence a few years prior.

Comments:

They're celebrating as one does in The Community; no criticism allowed. Never mentioned is the staggering cost of trauma care, which can easily go into the hundreds of thousands of dollars per person, with the cost passed on to everyone through Medicaid, or taxpayer-supported trauma centers (which usually are located in majority bLACK areas for obvious reasons), or hospital bills inflated in order recoup the care the have to provide "for free." Plus free lawyers for the gunmen, maybe prison time, parole officers, etc. An angry and ungrateful segment of the population places a huge drag on the economy to the point where USA has gone broke, and still the spending is not enough.

I was born in Springfield. The entire city is a cesspool. We moved when I was young and every time I've gone back I swear it's the last time. The only good thing about Springfield is Schueller's Bakery. They make a whole wheat glazed donut that is beyond wonderful. I always bring a dozen or so home with me when I have to visit Springfield.

It’s not just Soho—the West Village is looking more like the wild west as of late with scrawls of spray paint covering storefronts and mounds of stinking garbage cluttering sidewalks. Fed-up locals in the once-desirable neighborhood told The Post on Thursday they have no choice but to deal with the unsightly conditions. “It’s insane,” Katrina Kulyzhka said as she walked along Sixth Avenue Thursday.(Snip) Meanwhile, merchants in the area also complained of homeless people routinely menacing them—and even getting violent at times. State Department staffers were warned against investigating the origin of COVID-19 because it could “open a can of worms,” a former official revealed in a bombshell report Thursday. Former President Donald Trump is demanding that China pays ten trillion dollars for its role in the coronavirus pandemic as he added to growing calls for Dr. Anthony Fauci to explain exactly how much he knew about work being done at the Wuhan Institute of virology. In a statement, Trump derided his scientific adviser by claiming he saved hundreds of thousands of lives by resisting Fauci's guidance on everything from closing borders, developing vaccines and wearing masks. 'Now everyone, even the so-called "enemy,” are beginning to say that President Trump was right about the China Virus coming from the Wuhan Lab,' he said in a second statement

In a major setback for state prosecutors, the bribery and corruption case against Jason O’Donnell, a former Democratic legislator who was running for mayor in Bayonne, was thrown out of court Thursday after a judge found the candidate had committed no crime. The judge dismissed the indictment because she said O’Donnell had no power to make any promises in return for a $10,000 cash payment he allegedly accepted from an informant during an undercover sting operation.(Snip) The Attorney General’s office said it plans to appeal. “We strongly disagree with today’s decision, which, if upheld, effectively legalizes bribing candidates for public office,” said Peter Aseltine,

In the category of not all crooks are stupid, one accused migrant smuggler figured out an ingenious way to cut in half the time it took him to get back to Mexico from the U.S. to prepare for his next load of people: He turned himself in to the Border Patrol. During the coronavirus pandemic, rather than hold and prosecute illegal immigrants, the government is either catching and releasing or quickly expelling them to Mexico by busing them to the border and ushering them through a border crossing. Javier Ernesto Ayala-Osuna, who authorities say is a foot guide for groups of illegal immigrants, realized that once
