Georgetown University students recently signed a fake petition to cancel Memorial Day due to its celebration of “American imperialism.” One student said he “didn’t really think of it in this way” until he got to college and took “Women’s and Gender Studies classes,” which put him on a “f**k the U.S.” path in life.Campus Reform’s Addison Smith went to Georgetown University to conduct a social experiment to see if students would be willing to sign a fake petition seeking to abolish Memorial Day over alleged “American imperialism.” Many students signed the petition.“Is this a holiday you support? Is this something you’re going to be celebrating?” asked Smith

Ask them to recite the Top 10 favorite foods, in order, of Kim Kardashian and they'll get it completely right. Fur shure, like, ah, can you dig it, ah, like, ah, I'm heading to the nearest protest, like, fur shure. The working rights of the Panamanian banana pickers needs much work. We're going on a hunger strike until it's fixed.

They're college students from wealthy families for the most part. One goes to Georgetown on scholarship, athletics, or because your parents are rich. They grew up ignoring a holiday like this. I've met people from Georgetown University. They travel through Europe on daddy's dime or trust fund money. Those that don't have that kind of money, act like they do. Normal Americans can't carry on a conversation with these people because you feel instantly inferior because their experiences don't match yours. They end up being part of the one percent, and the others end up in government.

Georgetown University used to have a reputation as an excellent school, but I'm dubious about the quality of a Georgetown education when reading about these students and remembering that Mazie Hirano, U.S. Senator from Hawaii (possibly the most ignorant Senator ever in the U.S. Senate) got her law degree from the Georgetown Law School.

These clown dishonor this great country. I have been an advocate of the draft being reimplemented for many years. This is the greatest country that has ever existed. All citizens should be required to give at least two years service to their country. I firmly believe that a lot of the problems that we now have could be solved with some kind of personal service to the country.

I wonder if any of these mental giants can name all of the territory that was conquered by the ''Imperialist'' US. So far with the most powerful military machine in history there is Guam, Puerto Rico, American Samoa, US Virgin Islands, and the Northern Marianas. The inhabitants don't seem to be demanding independence from the big bad US. That seems to be sort of a benign ''Empire''.

I do believe that in Israel, it is mandatory for all young men and women serve at least 2 years in the military. It would be a great idea to make it mandatory here, then maybe these young folks will have an appreciation of what our free Country looks like compared to Communism or Marxism, etc.

Drafting idiots like them is not a good idea. Their mental functions are worthless in time of war. We would pay dearly for that. I never served, because of partial deafness, but I had friends who did. From conversations with them, draftees made some of the worse-disciplined soldiers in Vietnam. They were a problem not worth having in uniform.

The scarier thing is that we have other colleges and universities across our fruited plain teaching other young skulls full of mush like that dolt taking women and gender studies classes. They have no idea about our history and what Memorial Day is truly about. That is not only sad but pathetic at the same time.

Perhaps we should point out to them that, when we dropped the bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki we were the only country on the planet with that kind of military power and at that point, we could have taken over any and every country that we wanted. Heck, with the threat of using those bombs again we could have owned the entire planet. But what did we do? We did the LEAST imperialistic things possible. We came home and then we rebuilt the countries which we had fought. Look at photos of Nagasaki today and compare them to Detroit.

And this "elite" university is very hard to get in to, and supposedly only accepts those with high i.q's and a capacity to think critically. Oh wait---that was prior to the last few years (see Times and Wash Post and WS Journal articles) before SAT's were abandoned, grade points ignored and at least 40% (NY University) of upcoming class automatically composed of "immigrants" and another 20% of lst timers in college in families---THOSE are the total criteria). So for every one student who has earned the right to be at Georgetown via hard work and grades, there are 20 who are there because of citizenship status or color of sex.

Republicans voted against the commission, largely because of concerns that the Democrat-drafted bill would create a partisan committee rather than ensure a neutral investigation.

Of all the reactions to Paul Ryan’s speech Thursday at the Reagan Library in California, I thought the funniest was the one titled “Paul Ryan Begins to Re-emerge.” I found that idea funny because the speech I heard signaled the opposite: not burgeoning “re-emergence” on to the political stage but, on the contrary, an almost comical confirmation of obscurity. Ryan is a careful man, well-pressed, armed with all the best clichés, and utterly feckless. He salted his talk with plenty of gems calculated to appeal to conservatives. He appealed early and often to the ghost of Ronald Reagan—understandable given the auspices of his talk.

Obama earned rightful derision for the fact that, no matter the occasion, his tweets were always about Obama. Memorably, when he marked the 58th anniversary of Rosa Parks's refusal to sit on the back of the bus, his tweet, rather than picturing Parks, pictured Obama on the bus, gazing wistfully out the window. But they must provide “reasonable accommodations” for workers who refuse the shots because of a disability—including pregnancy—or for religious reasons, the agency said. The decision may mean unvaccinated employees could be required to wear masks, or to work remotely. The EEOC’s rules also gave the green light to companies offering incentives as a means of encouraging staffers to get vaccinated,
