On Monday, the delayed due date for filing federal taxes for the last calendar year, the White House made a theatrical show of releasing President Biden’s 2020 tax returns. In so doing, the new administration wanted to show a contrast with Biden’s predecessor, Donald Trump, who did not release his tax returns.But while the White House emphasized the release of Biden’s returns, it does not want reporters to scrutinize the content of those returns, because doing so would highlight a pattern of hypocritical behavior by the current president and his family. The New York Times has an opinion piece out — “Support for Black Lives Matter Surged Last Year. Did It Last?” They note how immediately after the death of George Floyd, support for BLM surged. But then, after June 3, it took a precipitous drop, and as the summer went on, it declined to even less support for BLM than there had been before Floyd’s death among some voters. The article said that among some voters, including Republicans, that it turned to outright opposition. A deadly shooting in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on Saturday, resulted in eight people wounded and two deaths, according to police. The incident happened in downtown Minneapolis on early Saturday morning at around 2.am on 300 Block N 1st, a Minneapolis police spokesperson told Insider.
