An Oregon lawmaker who let violent far-right demonstrators into the state Capitol during a Dec. 21 special session was criminally charged on Friday with first-degree official misconduct and second-degree criminal trespass. Rep. Mike Nearman, R-Independence, was caught on security videos opening a door and allowing demonstrators to enter the building. He had been under investigation since at least January for enabling the breach.(Snip) Oregon’s Capitol has been closed to the public for the last year due to the pandemic. On Dec. 21, lawmakers were in the building for the third special session of 2020, which Gov. Kate Brown called to extend

Comments:

The same thing happened during the US Capitol "insurrection," but because Democrat Socialists opened the doors to create a staged event, there's no crime. The understaffed Capitol Police opened the doors and let in the mostly peaceful protestors, with Antifa agitators leading the way, leading to the murder of Ashlii Babbitt. Who ordered the Capitol Police to be understaffed on that day? Who ordered them to open the doors? And who pulled the trigger?

What about the Capitol police who were seen removing the rather flimsy “barricades” and opening the main doors to let the January 6 “tourists” enter the building? One even posed for a selfie with one of those let in...

He checked their credentials? Only allowing government certified far right people in and prohibiting government certified far left and moderates out? Or did the latter get in by themselves? Did the newspaper verify the credentials if the people he admitted?

If you let in the far-right (probably just right) and you are bad; let in the far-left Antifa types and you are just enabling peaceful protest and should be lauded.

And yet, the far left "demonstrators" who have been burning and destroying in Portland are arrested and then released with no charges filed. Two different uses for the legal system in Oregon . Against people on the right in Salem.....a government iron fist, and brutal hammering, and for people on the left in Portland.....kid gloves and 'get along, no harm, no foul'. So, Salem works with Portland to support the left and Salem hammers the right. And not the DC Capitol, the Oregon state Capitol in Salem, Oregon.

This article smells of leftist propaganda. The prominent word are "violent & far-right". As we all know the Oregon has been made unsafe by Antifa thugs for some time now. Arrests have been almost negligible, and convictions have been fewer. I cannot classify Antifa (for example) as right or left, as such are merely thugs as my dictionary says a thus is an brutal ruffian or assassin (with no mention of politcal leanings). This may be one more way to remove a Republican from service.

95% of the news is leftist propaganda. It's up to the reader to sift past that, sometimes mocking how obvious it is. The salient point here is that the guy who opened the door of the Oregon capitol is in a lot of trouble while whoever opened the door to the US capitol is not even under scrutiny, nor is the unnamed cop who murdered a peaceful protestor.

A group of gay police officers is barred from marching in next year’s annual Pride parade, the police organization’s leaders said Friday. New York City Pride has told the NYPD’s Gay Officers Action League that it is not welcome in the parade, said Det. Brian Downey, president of the police group. NYC Pride had been expected to announce the Gay Officers Action League’s exclusion from the parade early next week. But GOAL preempted that announcement by issuing a news release on Friday night—and it referred to parts of the NYC Pride statement on its exclusion that have not been released yet.

Bentonville, Ark.—Walmart, the world’s largest retailer, said Friday that it won’t require vaccinated shoppers or workers to wear a mask in its U.S. stores unless state or local laws say otherwise. Vaccinated shoppers can go maskless immediately, the company said. Vaccinated workers can stop wearing them on Tuesday. As an incentive, Walmart said it is offering workers $75 if they prove they’ve been vaccinated. Customers won’t be asked but rather held to an “honor system” regarding their vaccination status, Walmart said. Workers, however, will need to answer “yes” to a vaccination question in a daily health assessment in order to go maskless,
