An Academy Awards production worker was reportedly mugged while setting up this year's ceremony at Union Station in Los Angeles. The Oscars usually take place at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood, but have been relocated to the train station, which is located in the city's dangerous Downtown area, close to tent cities set up by the homeless.(Snip) Union Station is used by hundreds of homeless people in the city, some of whom say they have been 'forced out' of the area by city officials so they don't interfere with the glamor of the star-studded evening. Twenty years ago, we used to get on Metrolink in Riverside and go to L.A. to Olvera St. on occasions. It was an easy walk from Union Station. A very enjoyable trip. Now? Because of the bums (I refuse to call them homeless), we go somewhere else.

#5, I presume you realize you’re now on the permanent “No-Fly List” and will never pass a background check to buy ammunition and, oh yes, will soon be facing a hearing as to whether you should own that set of Ginzu steak knives you’ve got in your kitchen. And BTW, very entertaining! Thanks for the laugh.

One of the major disappointments last night (saw the segment but didn't bother to watch the show itself) was Regina King, who started out on tv's "Southland" playing a L.A. cop, going on about how she would have done an Auntie Maxine rebuttal if the verdict in Minneapolis had turned out differently. She went from being someone I admired (ditto Bette Midler) to just another politicizing actress living in a bubble and with her own security guards. Tyler Perry was one of the few redeeming highlights, speaking understanding and decency AND still keeping his studio in Atlanta.........Perry is so big he doesn't have to care about the politics or virtue signaling, and, unlike the Corporate giants, probably actually READ the voting rights legislation and used his brain. Shame on Regina King.... as toMidler, she just sold HER 3 floor penthouse condo in NYC0 for $50 million. One of the folks, eh Bette.

Finally, Biden & Harris are talking about spending still MORE of our $ in the corrupt Triangle countries to stop the chaos at the border....who are they kidding? The border WAS fixed under Trump, via the Wall and stay in Mexico till processed etc. Meanwhile, new have homeless vets living in squalor own the streets of L.A. and other spots, and what is done for them? What is being done for the American middle class, minorities, etc? Does this administration actually think we don't SEE what is happening under Senile Joe with his FDR fixation.......he will certainly go down in history, but for all the wrong reasons. Some people are beginning to catch on, but others never will...they refuse, and I am sure have explanations as to why the Homeless must be temporarily shifted on Oscar night.

Hasbro said Tuesday it would raise prices of toys and games to counter higher raw material costs as the company sees surging demand for its Nerf blasters and board games from families spending more time at home. Shares of the Monopoly maker, which late on Monday announced the sale of Entertainment One Music to Blackstone Group for $385 million, rose 1 percent in midday trading. The toymaker, like most US manufacturers, has had to contend with rising resin, packaging and metal prices, as well as soaring transportation costs due to high demand and supply disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.(Snip) “Freight and input cost

President Joe Biden will call for free preschool for all three and four-year-old children on Wednesday—a $200 billion investment to be rolled out as part of his sweeping American Families Plan. The president will make the announcement in his first joint address to Congress—a fulfillment of a campaign promise. Biden campaigned on a national plan for universal preschool that would invest $775 billion over a 10-year period. The administration said the historic investment would benefit five million children and save the average family $13,000. It calls for providing federal funds to help the states offer preschool, with teachers and other

Kevin Andre McKenzie is just the latest alleged would-be songbird smuggler busted using the hair-accessory method to bring in the coveted creatures, which are used in high-stakes singing contests popular in Brooklyn and Queens. McKenzie allegedly told them he had been offered $3,000 to traffic the finches into the US. He was charged with the illegal importation of wildlife and was released on a $25,0000 bond, authorities said.

The open letter, published in Valeurs Actuelles, a right-wing news magazine, claims a military coup might be necessary to stop a 'civil war' in France. The letter has been condemned by Macron's government, who compared it to the failed coup by generals against President de Gaulle 60 years ago. However, far-right National Rally leader Marine Le Pen hailed the letter, which was signed by 80 other retired officers,
