Americans really are drinking more during the COVID-19 pandemic. New research suggests that alcohol consumption in the United States rose 14% during pandemic shutdowns. The most dramatic increase was in heavy drinking episodes in women, defined as four or more drinks within two hours. Women reported a 41% increase in episodes of heavy drinking in the spring of 2020 compared with their drinking level in the spring of 2019. "We've had anecdotal information about people buying and consuming more alcohol, but this is some of the first survey-based information that shows how much alcohol consumption has increased

Here are my research findings. There is a wholesale distributor down the street that has 100 bobtail delivery trucks. Only half the number are leaving the parking lot each day, half the number before the virus. So deliveries are half what they were.

Of course they are! Alcohol is the #1 anti anxiety drug on the market. More women are higher on the negative emotion curve and have more anxiety. The MSM has us all in a panic. We are all going to die or have horrible after effects from COVID etc. etc. Oh! And we are losing our jobs because our kids can't go to school because the teachers are too scared to get near kids etc.

I don’t drink and drive—so don’t. But heck yes, you’ll get the wine out of my cold, dead hands. P.S. celebrating my birthday this Saturday in local wine country, can’t wait. Cheers!

Munich— Oktoberfest is back in Germany after two years of pandemic cancellations — the same bicep-challenging beer mugs, fat-dripping pork knuckles, pretzels the size of dinner plates, men in leather shorts and women in cleavage-baring traditional dresses. But (snip) visitors are under pressure from inflation in a way that could scarcely be imagined the last time it was held in 2019. For one thing, the 1-liter (2-pint) mug of beer will cost between 12.60 and 13.80 euros ($12.84 and $14.07) this year, which is an increase of about 15% compared with 2019,

Since the beginning of the conflict, Ukraine has experienced heavy air traffic. However, astronomers claim to have discovered that the skies over Kyiv are home to more than just Russian jets. The researchers came across celestial objects that were not warplanes. They speculate that there may be an excessive number of unidentified flying objects (UFOs). The results were published in arxiv.org by Kyiv’s Main Astronomical Observatory in coordination with the country’s National Academy of Science on August 23. The report doesn't mention the war specifically, but the U.S. has long suggested, conjectured, and cautioned that certain

We live in an era of stark political division, but there's at least one aspect of politics both sides agree on: a maximum age limit for elected officials. Most feel that after a certain age they should not be permitted to hold office. There isn't just agreement across political lines, but across demographic groups, like age, too. Young and old, including seniors, favor maximum age limits for elected officials. And far more Americans believe additional young people in elected office would be a positive for U.S. politics than a negative. (snip) Age 70 is the top answer chosen.

Two years ago, with millions of people out of work and central bankers and politicians striving to lift the U.S. economy out of a pandemic-induced recession, inflation seemed like an afterthought. A year later, with unemployment falling and the inflation rate rising, many of those same policymakers insisted that the price hikes were “transitory” – a consequence of snarled supply chains, labor shortages and other issues that would right themselves sooner rather than later. Now, with the inflation rate higher than it’s been since the early 1980s, Biden administration officials acknowledge that they missed their call.

Especially considering the “demographic winter,” which is so evident in Spain and Italy. “In Italy there are empty villages with just twenty old ladies and nothing else,” he said. “Why can’t we make a policy in the West where immigrants are included with the principle that the migrant should be welcomed, accompanied, promoted, and integrated?” he asked.
