Supreme Court tosses Mass. gun law in
latest Second Amendment win

The US Supreme Court vacated a Massachusetts gun control law in one of the first orders of its new term following the justices’ June ruling striking down a New York statute that required people to show “proper cause” if they want to carry a concealed firearm in public. The Massachusetts case — Morin v. Lyver — concerned the plaintiff being denied a new firearm license because he had two out-of-state misdemeanor convictions for weapons possession. Massachusetts law places severe restrictions on the possession and purchase of firearms, including the ability to obtain a license to possess handguns, if convicted of nonviolent misdemeanors.

Ditto OP. Constitutional carry state here. No permit required. Have not heard of any problems. Been carrying for twelve years and never even had to draw. Something about knowing half the population (or more) is armed makes people more polite and less likely to act like a city blowhard.

The Bruen case will be sweeping away a LOT of gun laws. They will be dropping like dominoes as the lower courts realize that "shall not be infringed" is now actually what they are supposed to base cases on.

I am a 2nd Amendment advocate but, as John Adams cautioned: "Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people." Are we?

Every action to date shows that the current court is at least solidly behind the Second Amendment. Election integrity? Not so much.

The founders knew very well what the phrase "shall not be infringed" mean. Massachusetts' days of denying gun ownership to upstanding citizens are over.

President Joe Biden on Friday burned 3,866 lbs of jet fuel to fly 72 miles aboard Air Force One to deliver a speech in Hagerstown, Maryland. Biden’s 40-minute flight to Hagerstown burned about 3,886 lbs of jet fuel as he traveled in a Boeing 757 aircraft, which burns roughly 5,800 lbs of fuel per hour if the aircraft is traveling at the average speed of 598 miles per hour at 35,000 ft, according to Aviation Insider. Biden’s trip to Maryland produced over 12,000 lbs of carbon dioxide (CO2), according to a Daily Caller News Foundation analysis. Biden produced CO2 emissions equivalent to driving 13,678 miles in an average gasoline-powered passenger vehicle,

This week it was revealed that the US National Guard wrongly administered the Covid vaccine to a group of service members who were expecting to receive an influenza vaccine, according to The Epoch Times. The incident occurred during a mobile vaccination clinic for the Maine National Guard and at least one member who refused the mRNA vaccine on religious grounds received the experimental injection without his knowledge. That service member, Mathew Bouchard, is no longer a member of the National Guard. After the incident, he felt that the trust was completely broken. He was ordered to take a flu shot and feels like he was duped.

HBO has timed the release of a new documentary on President Joe Biden’s first year in office to just three weeks before the midterm elections in what appears like the latest effort by Hollywood to rally support for Democrats and make the deeply unpopular Biden look more presidential. In one indication as to how Biden will be portrayed, the documentary is being executive produced by far-left New York Times White House and national security correspondent David Sanger, who is also a frequent personality on CNN. Year One: A Political Odyssey is set to debut on HBO October 19 and will also stream on HBO Max.

In a move sure to set hair aflame, Florida’s Surgeon General, Dr. Joseph A. Ladapo, has recommended against men aged 18-39 getting the mRNA COVID-19 vaccines. That decision was made after the results of a study showed an 84 percent increase in cardiac-related deaths within the first 28 days of getting the shot. Ladapo issued a statement on Saturday, garnering mixed reactions. [Tweet] The study was carried out over nearly two years, running from December 2020 to June 2022 (click here for the full study). As far as the topline result, what it found was that cardiac-related deaths rose from 0.006 to 0.01 percent in the target group.

Ladies and gentlemen, we pro-freedom patriots have true genius working within our ranks. Humor is one of the best weapons to use against the Anti-liberty left and the happy warriors of Citizens for Sanity are taking it to them and making people laugh at the same time. The insane game plan of the Anti-liberty leftist is to try to demoralize and destabilize us with radical ideas that keep on changing and going further and further off the deep end. It hasn’t been a good week for Joe Biden. The same day that Joe Biden was caught on a hot mic claiming “nobody f—s with a Biden,” OPEC+ announced that it would be cutting oil production in the weeks leading up to the 2022 midterm elections, despite his repeated pleas for them to boost production. It was the latest in a long line of humiliations for Joe Biden — and, of course, entirely his own doing. He’s the one who put the brakes on domestic oil production and drilling, outsourcing our energy to foreign nations — including our enemies.

Biden’s handlers’ most open attempt to undermine and destroy the freedom of speech, the Disinformation Governance Board, is dead, at least for now, but that doesn’t mean that the people who run this administration have suddenly discovered the importance of the freedom of speech. As PJM’s Stacey Lennox reported Tuesday, “in a letter dated Oct. 3, the American Medical Association (AMA), The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), and the Children’s Hospital Association (CHA) asked [Gestapo chief Merrick] Garland to ‘investigate the organizations, individuals, and entities coordinating, provoking, and carrying out bomb threats and threats of personal violence against children’s hospitals and physicians across the U.S.’”

Newsom has for months made a noticeable effort to criticize Florida and DeSantis’s handling of the state, going so far as using the Fourth of July weekend to urge Floridians to flock to the Golden State. “I urge all of you living in Florida to join the fight or join us in California, where we still believe in freedom: Freedom of speech, freedom to choose, freedom from hate, and the freedom to love,” he pleaded at the time, following up weeks later by mocking “freedom-loving” governors.

First Lady Jill Biden offered a rare personal glimpse into her views on abortion during a political fundraiser in San Francisco on Friday, retelling the story of how her mother helped care for a teenage friend who got an abortion 60 years ago. Biden, who was 17 at the time, said her friend didn’t want to be pregnant, but learned that a doctor would only perform an abortion if she underwent a psychiatric evaluation and was declared mentally unfit. It was the late 1960s, before the Supreme Court’s Roe v. Wade decision, and abortion was illegal in Pennsylvania, where she

Sen. Mitch McConnell has no excuse. The ads his political group is producing to attack Alaska Republican Senate candidate Kelly Tshibaka are beyond the pale. Campaign attacks intensify in October because as the election runway gets shorter, it takes a sharp message to catch voters’ attention and seal the deal. And it is shocking Alaskans, indeed. McConnell’s determination to destroy another Republican’s reputation is driving Alaskans away from the Republican Party
