President Joe Biden, while touting his $174 billion electric vehicle (EV) plan, ignored his record of allowing Chinese investors with ties to the Chinese Communist Party to buy up key parts of the American EV industry.During a speech at the Ford Rouge Electric Vehicle Center in Dearborn, Michigan, Biden touted his record as vice president to former President Barack Obama in relation to the nation’s battery-powered EVs.“Our own Department of Energy pioneered and transformed the battery industry when Barack and I were in office. And through the Recovery Act’s grants and loans, battery prices dropped 80 percent because we were looking forward,” Biden said.

I wonder where the environmentalist are going to dispose of those old 1800 pound truck batteries. Owners will have to keep these trucks forever, because of the disposal fees.

Along with No. 2; It never crossed my mind about the disposal fee! Holy Mackeral!!
Also, these EV advocates NEVEr question as to, (if we are already in an electrical dilemma), where is all of the electricity going to come from?
No NUKES, no power lines, no more nothing.
Whatever happened to rational thinking???
Also, in my mind, there will NEVER be a self-driving car that will prevent a child or another vehicle from pulling out in front of a self driving vehicle.

I cannot believe that the scientists and anyone with a smidgeon of common sense can stay quiet when these absurd proposals are made. It is just radical pie in the sky thinking that is driving this. Not only is it ridiculous, it is a national security issue, but that is never a consideration for Xiden. Do these nitwits believe that the electricity to power all these electric cars rains down on us like manna from Heaven?

Electric Vehicle Industry?...left off something...the Coal Powered Electric Vehicle Industry

Let's keep promoting everything battery powered. That way those kids mining exotic minerals in Africa will be able to keep their jobs. After all isn't full employment one of our goals?

Many of the people who bought electric cars have found that they are not practical for long trips. Refueling a gas or diesel vehicle takes 10 to 15 minutes. Recharging electric car batteries takes several hours. Even if you have recharge stations next to every gas station, you would need ten or more plug-ins to have the same throughput as one gas pump. (Assuming 15 minutes per refueling and 2.5 hours per recharge) Recharge stations would need to the size of a fair-sized parking lot.

Joe, we know it's a scam. Abusing the power of government to drive an essential industry straight into the hands of our greatest threat, while we know you are on their payroll yea way to go Big Guy.

FYI, thanks to CBS 60 Minutes investigation into China virus in Italy they reported the travel of Chinese to Italy continued because the chicoms owned 64% of Fiat Chrysler. So not to burst your bubble but your dream to own a Challenger Hellcat or Jeep Wrangler are not American or Italian companies. Was the Obama theft of Chrysler's secured debt that was given away to Fiat and then China planned? Probably!

This is all part of the green deal...but... where will the electric cars get their energy?...they must plug in somewhere...and... if china runs all the energy stations... what's to stop them from closing down when they invade America....WE would be at their mercy... is that the long game plan?... and Kerry on Newsman is right... why are all the BIG dudes buying islands off shore...why even obama bought an off shore land... are they expecting something?

Saw someone on Kudlow the other day, that said there aren't enough mines in the world to produce the amount of minerals needed to produce the number of electric cars the communists want everyone to drive. Since mines usually involve creating huge holes in the ground along with huge amounts of dirt or slag from the digging process and the refining process, doesn't this run counter to the whole save the earth movement? This person basically said, what the socialist/communists want can't happen, because there just isn't enough raw material on earth to make it happen.

#12, back in 1970s, I started research work on what became a hybrid vehicle build for my master's degree in engineering.
The first thing to do was to look over the available battery technologies that might be used. They were lead-acid (like your car starting battery, golf cart batteries, etc), the nickel-cadmium batteries (used in small jet aircraft starting systems, 1950s and 60s missiles, and much later, hand tools), and a few older types like the Edison nickel-iron cells, which literally last forever, but are heavy and expensive. The lithium cells of today didn't exist then, except possibly as lab projects.
The huge limitation on the nickel-cadmium and nickel-iron cells was the limits on worldwide production of nickel and cadmium which couldn't possibly support even a tiny fraction of the US auto demand. So, we went with lead-acid batteries.
We are in the same situation today. There is no way to produce enough of the rare earth metals used in the advanced motors in modern EVs, and the materials used in the batteries, in large enough quantities to support even a small fraction of current auto and light truck production. And the eco-freaks won't let us mine and refine metals here in the USA any more. What little bit of rare-earths are mined in the USA ( a real struggle against the enviro-Luddites) have to be shipped as partially refined ore to China to be smelted, because it is impossible to get a permit to build the smelter in the USA. EPA prevents essentially ALL new metals development in the USA, and has been shutting down existing smelters for decades, entirely crippling US industry.

So there will soon be an electric-powered pickup truck that will have the same performance as a diesel-powered truck. Riiiiight. Ain't gonna happen.
Lefties, once again, you are smokin' some wacky tobacci.
