Here’s something you don’t hear every day.
In North Carolina Tuesday, an official was relieved of his position.
As relayed by the Greensboro News and Record, construction contractor Tony Collins was unanimously kicked off the Greensboro City Council’s Zoning Commission. The reason: The day before, he’d addressed Carrie Rosario — who has her doctorate degree — as “Carrie” and “Mrs. Rosario.” She’d repeatedly requested to be called “Dr. Rosario.”

The US is poised to ban menthol cigarettes in a move health experts say could have a positive impact on the health of Black Americans. The vast majority of Black smokers, an estimated 85 per cent, use menthol cigarettes, and now the Food and Drug Administration is set to take action this week. The FDA faces a Thursday court deadline to respond to a 2013 citizen petition urging it to ban menthol, in the same way it has other prohibited flavoured cigarettes. The African American Tobacco Control Leadership Council and Action on Smoking and Health sued the FDA when it

CNN’s Chris Cuomo railed against the Census Bureau on his show Monday with his guest Michael Smerconish and intimated that the agency is actively helping Republicans increase their numbers in Congress. As mandated in the Constitution, the Census Bureau is tasked with tracking the nation’s population growth by state. It then appropriates the number of seats each state gets in the House of Representatives and that is directly connected to the Electoral College calculation. They stick to the numbers since they are part of the U.S. Federal Statistical System.Cuomo seems to believe there is something nefarious going on rather than straight-up demographics.

Robin Hauser, a pediatrician in Tampa, got COVID-19 in February. What separates her from the vast majority of the tens of millions of other Americans who have come down with the virus is this: She got sick seven weeks after her second dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine. "I was shocked," said Hauser.(Snip)These "breakthrough" infections occurred among people of all ages. Just over 40% were in people 60 or older, and 65% occurred in women. Twenty-nine percent of infected people reported no symptoms, but 7% were hospitalized and just over 1%, 74 people, died, according to the CDC.

America is not quite there yet on Vice President Kamala Harris, with a sizable viewing her unfavorably and the nation overall split on her becoming the first female president. In the latest Rasmussen Reports survey, 51% have an unfavorable view of her. And most, 43% expressed a “very unfavorable” opinion, a sour note to her debut on the world stage today as she addresses the United Nations Monday on the global coronavirus crisis. Rasmussen noted that a majority of likely voters do not believe that she is qualified to take over for President Biden. But the nation is split on
