Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) predicted Sunday that the Supreme Court will send former President Trump’s immunity case back to the lower courts. “Well, I think the court’s gonna find that presidential immunity exists for President Trump like every other president, but you got to be within the scope of being president. I think they’ll send it back to the lower courts to find out exactly what actions fall within presidential immunity and what are considered personal. I think that’s the way this will end — there will be some immunity for some of the actions,” Graham said on CNN’s “State of the Union.”

From what I have read of the transcript, I think Graham is wrong. If they find immunity, they will decide the public/private issue, just like they did in Nixon v. Fitzgerald. Even the Special Counsel's lawyer said that the public/private issue couldn't be split in prosecuting the case.

Lindsey Graham hasn't been right on a lot of things that are considered important in this country and most likely he's not right on this issue, as well politicians are like the weatherman ... he can be wrong but no one will hold him accountable for his mistakes

PEN America, a leading nonprofit dedicated to free expression, canceled its 2024 World Voices Festival late last week under pressure from pro-Palestinian activists. Many writers affiliated with the organization either threatened to boycott the event unless PEN acceded to certain demands, including labeling Israel’s actions in Gaza “genocide,” or distanced themselves from the free-speech group in response to online pressure from pro-Palestinian activists. “As an organization that cares deeply about the freedom of writers to speak their conscience, we are concerned about any circumstance in which writers tell us they feel shut down, or that speaking their minds bears too much risk,”

This week in Florida, Judge Aileen Cannon unsealed a trove of new documents that Jack Smith fought to keep hidden. And you'll soon find out why. Among the documents unsealed were extensive exhibits, motions, and other filings shedding light on the intricate web of communication between the Biden White House and the National Archives and Records Administration in the lead-up to Trump's indictment. Investigative journalist Julie Kelly found something interesting in the documents that could change everything. The first things is testimony from an FBI agent who testified that the General Services Association (GSA) had been in possession of Trump's boxes in Virginia before ordering Trump's team to come get them.

Police in Washington, D.C., rejected requests from campus officials at George Washington University to clear anti-Israel protesters from their campus encampment this week, fearing that doing so could be bad publicity. Although police were poised to disband the encampment at around 3 a.m. on Friday morning, city officials in the police chief’s and mayor’s office told police to stand down and said that it would look bad publicly for police to disrupt a “small number of peaceful protesters,” the Washington Post reported on Friday. The same city officials know of no immediate plans to clear out the school’s University Yard, which is blocks from the White House, and where the encampment

It's been a little confusing since arrests were made during the big pro-Hamas protest on the University of Texas-Austin campus on Wednesday. Are students free to return to campus? Yes and no. It seems there was confusion on Friday. On Thursday, the Travis County district attorney dropped all criminal trespass charges against those who were arrested. On Friday, the university confirmed that the arrested students will not be allowed to freely be on campus. University spokesman Mike Rosen released a statement Friday afternoon. Students will be allowed to complete courses for the semester but may only return to campus for academic reasons and to access university resources with approval.

Ford Motor Company reported a whopping $132,000 loss on each electric vehicle (EV) sold during the first three months of 2024, amassing a $1.3 billion loss. The auto manufacturer’s electric vehicle unit revealed Thursday that they experienced a 20 percent decrease in sales volume and were forced to slash prices due to low consumer demand, CNN reported. The revenue for Ford’s EV car, the Model e, plunged by 84 percent to about $100 million, which the company blamed on EV price cuts across the auto industry. “That resulted in the $1.3 billion loss before interest and taxes (EBIT), and the massive per-vehicle loss in the Model e unit,” the publication noted.
