BALTIMORE — After a bridge collapse in Baltimore killed six people and shut down an international port, Maryland Gov. Wes Moore has stepped into the national spotlight this week, leading the response to the catastrophe. Moore, a political newcomer before he launched his 2022 campaign for governor, has already been identified as a rising star in the Democratic Party, joining a deep bench of Democratic governors whose names have been floated as potential 2028 presidential contenders. Moore’s allies say the qualities and experience that led him to run for governor are the same ones that could help guide him through

I expect the fed rebuild money will come with the now standard DEI strings attached, a mechanism that ensures the new bridge will be overly expensive, poorly engineered and shoddily constructed. If it's ever built at all.

Dems always fail massively at this sort of a challenge. They attempt to turn a REAL WORLD problem into a marketing and publicity stunt, the only things that they are good at.
When there are REAL, measurable, important things to do --- Dems always make a disaster WORSE.

The rebuild of the FSK bridge is an opportunity for corruption at the highest level. Expect the rebuild to be done after the California train to no where. Especially with Butt Pete's leadership.

I watched the press conference. The gov: blah blah blah about they were there to support and fix everything, all the gov agencies were helping (even the sba??). It was disgusting. Then. The Senator stepped up and put in his two cents about the same. Government bureaucrats who have never built or fixed anything in their life!

Now they are talking about Federal loans and grants to anyone affected by the bridge collapse. They want to do that quick, so no doubt, here comes a massive fraud scenario targeting that Federal Money!

It's not the first challenge for Pete Buttjudge but he handled this one like he has all the others, by remaining invisible and practicing his motherhood.

The Pier in Naples FL. has been closed since hurricane Ian. It's estimated to be over a year before it will be functional, finished. Also, the price is going to in the millions to restore it. Think about it, a pier.
Now look at the destruction of the FSK bridge.

The Democrat “rising star” came across as a helpless, hopeless boob this week, totally unimpressive. Contact with Ron DeSantis, who would have managed to have a completion date for the new bridge and an incentive for the builder to finish early. Look at how he has handle any crisis in FL. An affirmative action “rising star” is not capable of doing the job, but MD deserves what it votes for.

It would be nice to have a list and testimony from every moron in various agencies and levels of government, along with the designers and builders of the bridge, to explain why NO crash barriers were on both sides of the main supports and any other critical support structures. A busy channel with ZERO protection. No tugboats, NOTHING. I am amazed it took this long before it collapsed. Tampa bridge has them, Delaware bridge has them. Every major port has them, but NOT a major trading port. Incompetence, stupidity, or just cheap? A first year engineer could have designed a safer structure.
As for the immense momentum would be hard to stop, the out of control ship stopped dead in the water once it hit the unprotected supports. Insanity and zero responsibility is our culture now. Pathetic.
