South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem (R) did not say whether she met North Korean leader Kim Jong Un when responding to the inaccuracies reported in her new book. Noem has been facing mounting criticism over her forthcoming book, set to be released this week, and her inclusion of a story where she details shooting and killing a dog and a goat on her property about 20 years ago. In recent days, she has faced additional scrutiny after writing in her book that she had met Kim while serving in Congress on the House Armed Services Committee. The Dakota Scout reported last week that a meeting between Noem and Kim

Comments:

Her book just came out today and there’s already several one star reviews on Amazon. It’s probably going to sink just as fast as her political career is.

Now that we know she can tell a big lie, I doubt the dog and goat killing story as well. Seems that everything occurred on the same day. Pheasant hunting, chicken killing, dog killing and for good measure, two shot goat killing. It follows that she did this with a shot gun and pheasant loads. How messy, and she went back for more. Falsus in uno, falsus in omnibus.

I'm beginning to think this book was specifically written to destroy her. Who is the author and money behind the book, btw?

When Beelzebubba's My Life was published in 2004, I had read or heard somewhere that the PIAPS's lie about being named for Kiwi beekeeper Ed Hillary five and a half years before he summited Everest would be reprised in said book. Walking into Sam's Club I saw a huge stack of the books just inside the entrance. Curious, I picked up one and went to the index, Looking for "Edmund Hillary." There it was. Flipping to the proper page, I laughed out loud reading that the PIAPS's parents were obviously such close followers of beekeeping in New Zealand. Ed Hillary (with Nepalese sherpa Tenzing Norgay) topped Everest in May 1953 and was knighted soon afterward; the PIAPS was whelped in October 1947. Such shameless liars.

I'd say Trump dodged a bullet on this twit. Mike Gallagher made the point that she seemed to have intentionally done this to take herself out of running as VP. At this point, I'm wondering if she's hoping to run as Biden's VP?!

She got caught in a lie and in true Democrat fashion, she refused to answer the question when confronted with the lie. She is toast. Her only chance at VP is to switch parties. And I had high hopes for her down the road - those South Dakota needs workers commercials were effective.

What Energy Transition? 8 replies

The press, and many politicians, constantly assure us that the world is in the midst of a transition from fossil fuels to “green” energy, which means wind turbines, solar panels, and mostly fictitious batteries. But is any such transition actually in progress? No. Robert Bryce has the numbers. No such transition is taking place in the U.S.; on the contrary, last year natural gas-fired electricity generation increased 9.5 times as much as wind and solar combined: (Chart) But that’s nothing! The U.S. is rich enough to waste absurd amounts of money on pitifully inadequate wind and solar developments. Less developed countries can’t afford to be that stupid.

The use of phrases such as “pregnant people” or “penis owners” in cultural or political discourse is sometimes met with confusion, or even anger. Why use these terms when, as some people ask, “only women can get pregnant” or when “only men have penises?” Those people and institutions using gender-neutral language aim to be cognizant of the fact that sex doesn’t always align with gender identity, said psychiatrist Dr. Jack Drescher, past president of the Group for Advancement of Psychiatry and clinical professor of psychiatry at Columbia University in New York City. And it’s the most inclusive, streamlined way to refer to everyone who, regardless of their gender identity,

I don't know how the Biden team people can look at themselves in the morning, knowing what they are trying to sell the public with Joe Biden. They have seriously sold their souls for Democratic control, but in the bargain, they're endangering the nation, with the empty husk of Joe Biden "in charge." I wrote about some of the bizarre remarks he made at the Cinco de Mayo event at the White House on Monday, including about two-year-olds crossing the border and the remark he made about cutting former President Donald Trump (which sounded like a threat).

As we've previously documented, the Biden White House has employed a new strategy in recent weeks designed to make the way President Joe Biden shuffles when he walks across the South Lawn a little less noticeable to the public. It's what I call "Operation Hide Joe Biden," and up until Thursday, the hiding consisted of his handlers swarming him as he either walked towards or away from Marine One, making it harder for him to be visible and in some instances effectively making it impossible to see him. "Some Biden advisers have told Axios they're concerned that videos of Biden walking and shuffling alone — especially across the grass —

Five West Virginia middle-school track athletes who protested the participation of a transgender student in a recent competition have been barred from future meets and are now engaged in a legal battle with their school district that could end up at the Supreme Court. On April 18, during the 2024 Harrison County Middle School Championships, the student athletes — all girls — made local headlines by stepping out of the shot-put circle, choosing to forfeit rather than compete against a 13-year-old transgender female. The silent protest came after a federal appeals court struck down part of West Virginia's transgender sports ban, allowing the 13-year-old in question to compete

Judas Iscariot was one of Jesus’s 12 Apostles. In the Garden of Gethsemane the night before Jesus's crucifixion, Judas betrayed Jesus to the Sanhedrin who eventually arrested Jesus. Jesus predicted this betrayal during the Last Supper. In exchange for his treachery, Judas received thirty pieces of silver. Could he have also been threatened? Who knows? The Bible says nothing about that. Modern day betrayals, particularly of leaders, occur via carrot or stick, reward or kompromat. For Judas, the price was a pocket of silver coins. For members of Congress, the price may be a do-nothing board seat, a cable news gig, or stock options worth millions.
