The “woke virus” continues to spread in America.
The Boy Scouts of America has announced a major rebranding as it transitions to “Scouting America,” marking the first name change in its 114-year legacy.
The move is part of the organization’s bid to distance itself from its troubled past marred by a torrent of sexual abuse claims and subsequent bankruptcy while simultaneously embracing “inclusivity.”
The Gateway Pundit reported that the organization was nearly bankrupt after a series of woke decisions, including changing its policies to allow gay leaders and allowing girls to join.

Quick! Someone grab the name, "Boy Scouts" and reconstitute it as it originally was! Bring pride, honor, and above all, faith back to the name!!

Not merely the end of an era, but the end of scouting. Expect a financial tailspin.

Texas could be proud for many years that BSA Headquarters was based in Irving, Texas. I am so saddened that a bunch of cowards let the whole thing be slowly taken over by politically correct poisonous ideas.

They've been going down the toilet for decades. When I joined in '71 or so they were doing woods things, knots, first aid, all the normal boy scout things. By the time I quit in '74 they had dumped most of the traditional things and become city scouts.
No use for them.

It’s over. Agree with #1. Enraging of course but nothing to be done. Won’t be long until the organization dries up from lack of support.

Too bad the Scouts had to pay out $2Billion for their past sexual abuse so in honor of the new brsnd I wrote a limerick specially for them.
Scouting Creed
Scoutmasters are brave, clean and kind
The best sort of folks you can find
There’s one thing you can trust
They will do what they must
To make sure they leave no boys behind

The era of the true Boy Scouts of America ended a long time ago. Sadly, so did the Girl Scouts of America. They're only "woke" imitations left now anyway. It is all so very sad.
I enjoyed being a Girl Scout; from Brownies to Senior Scouts, to being a summer camp counselor when a college student. My mother was my leader from Junior Scouts to Senior Scouts, while still leading my sister's troop she started as Brownies. She took her first troop as Seniors - as well as my Senior Troop - to Mexico City and the G.S. International Scout House. She was the leader of Troop 823 for 35 years; graduating girls and taking in new 9th graders every year. She was also on the Board of Directors of the San Fernando Valley G.S. Council, and served as the Sustaining Membership Chairwoman for over 20 years, schmoozing the local businesses and corporations for donations. Twice she was a delegate to the G.S. National Convention. My Dad used to tease her, "that she took the Green Veil."
The liberal poison was seeping in by the early '80s and Mom's last term on the Board. There were already two young Directors pushing the "new Scouting". She'd come home from a meeting and Dad would give her a Scotch on the rocks. I was finishing my last year of college and served as her sounding board. It's been rather weird seeing her prophesies come true. I imagine her up in heaven consoling Juliet Lowe.

When the Boy Scouts cow-towed to the Gaystappo, the end was only a matter of time. When becoming PC becomes more important than protecting children from perverts, you are evil and have outlived any use you may have had in the past.
Same thing when the Girl Scouts became the Lesbian Abortion Scouts.
They won't be missed when they are gone!!!

The evil Marxists have been working for decades to destroy the Boy Scouts... they have no succeeded.
Many friends were Eagle Scouts, how sad for them all. I learned a huge amount from Scouting.

Leftist ruin everything they touch. As a former Scout Leader, I cannot and will not support GSA in any way. We do not even buy their cookies and I never encourage anyone to join. What was a wonderful organization has turned into a woke mess. The influence of LGBTQ+ has ruined a once great organization.

Having run 3 boys thru cub scouts I can tell you why the program disintegrated. All they did was have meetings and do book work.
You buy the scout handbook which lists all the requirements for badges. They are mostly not camping things. They're just tedious book based tasks. Then you go to monthly meetings to discuss your progress on the tasks to obtain badges.
The year is punctuated w events like Pinewood derby and banquet which are great. But they are seldom. Mostly, it is an insufferable task management process.
We went camping a few times which was great. Not every year. One of the Scout camps was sold off to fund the pensions of the executive leadership it was strongly rumored.
Imho it is a bad arrangement to have paid executive organizers relying on and overseeing unpaid volunteers to provide operations.

One of many things in our society that have been lost due to liberals.
Professional sports, girls' sports, beer, trips to D.C., New York or San Francisco, public school, trust in doctors, fun at the movies, good experience at college, trust in election integrity, light bulbs, gas stoves, .....

The goal of the left is to destroy every organization except the state, every organization that might oppose the state in some way, offer another viewpoint. The Boy Scouts is a prime example. The left kills everything it touches.

Paid out $bazillions because of gay men then got taken over by sodomy sympathizers and obese feminists - can anyone explain how exactly a boy can even be "gay"? Do gay 12 year olds sodomize each other or just talk about it? Can a gay scoutmaster read "Flamer" to his gay boys?

I'm so disheartened by what has happened to the BSA organization. My husband and I and two of our sons were very involved with the Cub Scouts and the Boy Scouts throughout the '80's. We were part of the leadership and were always in communication with the parents and the majority of them were committed and involved as well, which was key to it's success. By the time our youngest son became involved in the early '90's there was all new leadership, top to bottom, and it was a totally different program. Very few parents ever showed up and the kids lost interest. Kids involved in scouting were looked down on. And then the pedophile stories came out and that put a nail in the coffin. We were saddened that our youngest son couldn't have the same enriching experience that his brothers had. It seemed like the Boy Scouts and the culture had changed in just a few years, but I suppose, in actuality, it had happened gradually over many years.

My experiences in the Boy Scouts (Troop 217, Eagle Scout 1968) were essential to my growing from a boy into a man. All of the adults associated with my troop, called Scouters, wore the same uniforms as we did and were, to a man, fathers of boys who were active in the troop. We were as safe as could be with the dads nearby. They were alway around.
The idea of having gay scouters with no familial connection to and a possible sexual interest in the boys didn't even enter the discussion in the late 'Sixties; that was inconceivable. At that time boys who were not heterosexual wouldn't have joined the Scouts anyway. All of my troopmates were exuberantly heterosexual, or at least claimed to be.
At my Eagle board of review, sitting across from me were a, august group: a prominent doctor, a major local businessman, a prosecuting attorney, and a stern-faced white-haired judge. It wasn't too bad for a 13-year-old penis owner. (Couldn't resist.) I was prepared, although completely intimidated. But the four gentlemen facing me had all been Eagle Scouts, didn't give me the third degree, and I was approved after an hour of their questions and wise life advice.
Seeing the Boy Scouts of America changing its name saddens my weary heart. The name's not all that's changed. Now I would not recommend that 11-year-old boys go automatically into scouting, unless they could find a troop similar to my mine with fathers' involvement.

My late husband was so proud of our son earning his Eagle Scout badge. He is probably spinning in his grave at what the BSA has become. So very sad.
