A report from Colorado Newsline indicates the Democrat sponsor of Colorado’s “assault weapons” ban legislation plans to kill her own bill. According to the report, State Sen. Julie Gonzales (D) said she plans to ask for the bill to be removed from consideration on Tuesday during a committee hearing. Colorado’s legislative session ends Wednesday, and it appears Gonzales does not believe that that provides the time needed to work on the bill. She said, “After thoughtful conversations with my Senate colleagues, I decided that more conversations need to take place outside of the pressure cooker of the Capitol during the last weeks of the legislative session.”

Columbia University announced on Monday that it will not hold a universitywide graduation ceremony after weeks of anti-Israel protests turned fiery last week. The university announced it would hold other smaller ceremonies to honor graduating students but that the large commencement ceremony would be axed in favor of ensuring the security of the smaller events. Columbia was the epicenter of recent anti-Israel protests, culminating in the New York Police Department breaking up the encampment and taking back a university building protesters had forcefully taken last week.

Israel is preparing to launch what is expected to be a massive ground operation inside Rafah, a city in southern Gaza where some 1.5 million Palestinians have taken shelter. The Israeli army has begun ordering tens of thousands of Palestinians living in the city to evacuate. On Monday, Israel’s Defense Forces ordered an evacuation of Rafah, signaling that a long-promised ground operation could be imminent. The Israeli army has described Rafah as the last significant Hamas stronghold after seven months of war, and its leaders have repeatedly said clearing Rafah is necessary to defeat the Islamic militant group. Overnight, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant told U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd

The Texas Hispanic Policy Foundation took a survey in the second week of April. The results are not good for President Biden and other Democrats. The survey shows that there is strong support among Hispanic voters for two signature border policies of Governor Greg Abbott. First, 61% of Texas likely voters supported (and 34% opposed) spending $3.5 billion in Texas tax dollars annually on border security, ranging from border wall construction to the deployment of the Texas National Guard to the border. Two-thirds of white and three-fifths of Hispanic likely voters supported this policy, as do 86% of Republicans, 64% of independents, and even 33%

Russia said Monday it plans to hold drills simulating the use of battlefield nuclear weapons amid rising tensions following comments by senior Western officials about the possibility of deeper involvement in the war in Ukraine. The announcement came on the eve of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s inauguration to a fifth term in office and in a week when Moscow on Thursday will celebrate Victory Day, its most important secular holiday, marking its defeat of Nazi Germany in World War II. The drills are a response to “provocative statements and threats of certain Western officials regarding the Russian Federation,” the Defense Ministry said in a statement.

In the days since President Joe Biden’s administration published sweeping revisions to Title IX rules, much of the focus has been on how the updates are likely to impact female athletes — but that’s far from the only concern. Critics quickly pointed out that those updates, which the Biden administration said were supposed to provide more protections for LGBTQ students, could be used to protect trans-identifying males competing on women’s sports teams. But according to attorney Candice Jackson, who served as Acting Assistant Secretary in the Department of Education during the Trump administration, the rule changes could lead to further complications

During the two months since President Biden delivered his State of the Union address, a wide variety of legacy news outlets have been at pains to portray an infinitesimal improvement in his polling as a shift of momentum in the presidential race. Last week, for example, USA Today breathlessly reported that “Trump and Biden are ‘darn near even’ in the 2024 election.” If this was meant to provide moral sustenance for worried Democrats it was thin gruel indeed. Biden is an incumbent president struggling to keep up with a challenger most of whose time and money has been devoted to fighting off a ruthless lawfare campaign.

The Biden regime has cut off ammunition supplies to Israel as they attempt to appease the growing anger among the left of the Democratic Party over America’s support for the war against Hamas. According to a report from Axios, the decision to put a hold on the ammunition shipment caused panic among the Israeli security services and is intended to prevent Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu from proceeding with an invasion of Rafah.

For the sixth year in a row, the National Education Association (NEA) faces a mass exodus of members. But the blame doesn’t lie with a shrinking student population or loss of funding, as NEA president Becky Pringle would have you believe. The NEA’s blatant prioritization of a radical political agenda at the expense of member representation is the true culprit, resulting in a loss of more than 12,000 members in 2023, per the union’s latest financial report. Union membership rates have been on the downturn for decades.

DEI has infiltrated our American military like a deadly toxin, making it incapable of defending our shores or our country. The higher-ups in the American armed forces have somehow succumbed to a racist philosophy that recruits, promotes, hires, and rewards black, brown, and Hispanic members at the expense of white people, who need not apply. Word is out: White people will not be hired or promoted according to merit, nor will they even be allowed to function the way other races function so long as DEI has a branch in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, or any other American defense mechanism.

A Border Patrol agent who was hung out to dry by the Biden administration for months on false charges of whipping illegal immigrants at the southern border has now received a Border Patrol achievement award. In September 2021, images circulated of Border Patrol agents on horseback trying to round up illegal immigrants from Haiti. The images were initially interpreted by some as showing an agent whipping the illegal immigrants. The incident was denounced by President Joe Biden, who promised to punish the agents responsible. However, a subsequent investigation revealed that the horses’ reins were the objects that, at the angle some images were taken, appeared to be whips.

Joe Biden has claimed he grew up in a black church, a Jewish synagogue, and a Puerto Rican neighborhood. He hasn't yet claimed to identify as a woman, but if polls show him losing ground with the LGBT community, I'm sure that's next. There seems to be no limit to his pandering. "This November, voters are going to teach Donald Trump a valuable lesson: Don’t mess with the women of America," one of Biden's aides posted on his Twitter account. Really, Joe? Do you really think that all women share the same political views and will vote in unison against Donald Trump?
