Why Intellectuals Don't Like Capitalism

Original Article

Anti-capitalism is back in fashion. Even Marxism, which many had declared dead after the collapse of socialism, is experiencing a renaissance. Books such as those by the left-wing French economist Thomas Piketty are popular. In my home country, Germany, a book called Das Ende des Kapitalismus (The End of Capitalism), whose author advocates the introduction of a planned economy, has climbed the bestseller lists. She cites the British war economy of the Second World War as a potential model. In her opinion, we should introduce this kind of economic system as quickly as possible, as it is the only way we can save our planet.

Stuck bashing their heads in their own self-esteemed navels, they lazily prefer that others work to produce wealth and share it with them.

You lost me with "it is the only way to save our planet." The planet is not in danger of being wiped out. Besides, empirical evidence is rife showing that the economic model hardest on the environment has been Communism. The bigger reason academic elites tend to hate Capitalism is that they are too busy thinking and analyzing to succeed in a merit driven free market (in which people who repeatedly fail to produce generally find themselves introduced to the door).

But Leftists love the idea of controlling what you buy, eat, and think.

Intellectuals are in a unique position. They dont have to produce anything. All they have to do is think of stuff, and they dont even have to suffer the consequences of that stuff. People in the academic environment are being done no favors.

Don't be suckered into calling it 'capitalism '. That is a pejorative term invented by evil, stupid Karl Marx. What it actually is should always be referred to as "free market economics". Emphasis on FREE, as in each person free to choose what to buy, what to sell, and for how much, where to work, and for how much, who to hire and for how much. Being foolish and calling it capitalism implies somehow "the capitalists" run everything, and that is absolutely not the case. Each and every individual person makes their own choices, unencumbered by some socialist telling them what the can buy, where they can work and how much they must be paid. Free markets.

With rare exception, they think they are better and smarter than me and are super envious that I own the company and tell them what to do. They think it is a fluke I own the company. No, it’s based on tech I designed and came up with and don’t have time to deal with details of everyday things. That’s why I hired them. Note, there are plenty of exceptions. You’d have to be intentionally looking the other way not to see the alignment of interests between the RFK Jr. operation and the dormant but ever hopeful DeSantis operation. I’m not necessarily talking about the average supporter, but more akin to the financial backers and background influence operation. Having erased all preconceptions about honest motives and intents as it pertains to DC swamp dwellers, the aggregate UniParty tribe, I am left reviewing and reconciling visible activity through the prism of constant deceptive motive and anti-Trump corruption. Honestly, it’s exhausting.

When I first starting writing for Breitbart.com way back in its first year, I was urged by my editors to make sure I carefully researched and documented any information in my columns. I would often insert the verifying link of the videos or newspaper resources to support the charges I asserted in the piece. At that time, I had full confidence in the videos I used as proof that supported the claims I was writing about. It is now 2024 and I have found that thanks to the technical advances in media manipulation, nothing is credible anymore. I have already written about the danger of AI (artificial intelligence)

Kathy Hochul blabbered into a microphone Monday. “They don’t know, they don’t know these things. And I want the world opened up to all of them,” she continued.

Xi was in France for a two-day state visit to open his European tour. I’ll bet you didn’t know that cutting the capital gains tax or the death tax is “racist.” Believe it or not, that’s the latest contention by the Biden administration, which seems to view every policy issue through the prism of not what’s best for the American economy but race and victimhood. In a new report, “Advancing Equity through Tax Reform,” the Biden Treasury Department examined stock and home ownership in America by race. The study concludes lower tax rates on capital gains income “disproportionately benefited White families relative to Black, Hispanic, and other racial/ethnic groups.” It found more than 90% of the benefits went to whites.

The use of phrases such as “pregnant people” or “penis owners” in cultural or political discourse is sometimes met with confusion, or even anger. Why use these terms when, as some people ask, “only women can get pregnant” or when “only men have penises?” Those people and institutions using gender-neutral language aim to be cognizant of the fact that sex doesn’t always align with gender identity, said psychiatrist Dr. Jack Drescher, past president of the Group for Advancement of Psychiatry and clinical professor of psychiatry at Columbia University in New York City. And it’s the most inclusive, streamlined way to refer to everyone who, regardless of their gender identity,

Judas Iscariot was one of Jesus’s 12 Apostles. In the Garden of Gethsemane the night before Jesus's crucifixion, Judas betrayed Jesus to the Sanhedrin who eventually arrested Jesus. Jesus predicted this betrayal during the Last Supper. In exchange for his treachery, Judas received thirty pieces of silver. Could he have also been threatened? Who knows? The Bible says nothing about that. Modern day betrayals, particularly of leaders, occur via carrot or stick, reward or kompromat. For Judas, the price was a pocket of silver coins.
