Lou Conter, the last living survivor of the USS Arizona battleship that exploded and sank during the Japanese bombing of Pearl Harbor, has died. He was 102. Conter passed away on Monday at his home in Grass Valley, California, following congestive heart failure, his daughter, Louann Daley said, adding she was beside him along with two of her brothers, James and Jeff. The Arizona lost 1,177 sailors and Marines in the 1941 attack that launched the United States into World War II. The battleship's dead account for nearly half of those killed in the attack. Conter was a quartermaster, standing on the main deck of the Arizona as Japanese planes flew overhead.

RIP Lt. Commander Conter. Your fellow naval members are waiting for you to come home. At last the USS Arizona personnel are together again. Thank you for your service. What a long life you have led. Bless you and all who serve and their families who serve in their own way so we can be free.

A certain President at the time of the bombing had blood on his hands. He knew and chose to ignore the intercepted news of the planned attack. A day that will indeed live in infamy…until the last of us with a memory of it passes away. It will surely be removed from history by the woke’uns.

My dad was in WWII. He died with shrapnel still in his body. He showed up his purple heart one day. It's beautiful. I so respected him for that.

I had the honor of visiting the USS Arizona five years ago and you could see a slow oil leak still coming from the submerged ship, almost 80 years later. They said the lore was that it would leak until the ship's last survivor passed away. I would love to go back and see, as well as pay my respects again to these brave heroes.

First-year UCLA medical students were forced to sit through a bizarre lecture by a pro-Hamas activist who made them pray to 'mama Earth' while a faculty member sought to identify one student who refused to participate. Lisa Gray-Garcia gave the two-hour presentation at Geffen Hall, on the university's downtown campus on March 27, the Washington Free Beacon reported. The lecture was a mandatory part of the Structural Racism and Health Equity class that all future doctors must take, administered by pediatrician Lindsay Wells. Almost six in ten doctors in the US received more than $12 billion in payments from pharma firms in the past decade, an analysis has revealed. A study by researchers at Yale University found that 57 percent of doctors earned the huge sums from manufacturers in relation to medical drugs or devices between 2013 and 2022. Most of the money was for consulting services or fees for things such as serving as a speaker at a venue, but the physicians also received large amounts of money for food and beverages and gifts. Orthopedic surgeons were found to receive the largest total sum of payments, at $1.36bn.

The majority of gender-confused children grow out of that feeling by the time they are fully grown adults, according to a long-term study. Researchers in the Netherlands tracked more than 2,700 children from age 11 to their mid-twenties, asking them every three years of feelings about their gender. Results showed at the start of the research, around one-in-10 children (11 percent) expressed 'gender non-contentedness' to varying degrees. But by age 25, just one-in-25 (4 percent) said they 'often' or 'sometimes' were discontent with their gender.

Iran has said that the US must bear "responsibility" after an airstrike on the Iranian consulate in Damascus, Syria. Two of Iran's most senior military commanders were killed – Mohammad Reza Zahedi, a senior commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps' (IRGC) elite Quds Force, and Mohammad Hadi Haji Rahimi, a deputy commander in the Quds Force. Israel has not commented on the strike but is widely believed to be responsible having carried out numerous strikes similar to this one in the region. But Iran has warned that the US must also be held accountable despite the fact Washington has said it played no role in the attack.

Israel is set to block Al Jazeera after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu branded it a "terror channel" that spreads false information. The Israeli government has now passed a new law that would allow the closure of the Qatar-owned news broadcaster. It is thought Netanyahu's decision to block the channel could affect relations with Qatar, which is playing a crucial role in trying to stop the war in Gaza. The broadcaster responded strongly to Netanyahu's claims, calling them a "dangerous, ludicrous lie", and saying he would be held accountable for the safety of its staff and offices.

Washington, D.C., Cardinal Wilton Gregory slammed President Joe Biden on Sunday for being a “cafeteria Catholic,’’ picking and choosing what doctrines he wants to believe in; he cited the president’s support for “abortion rights” and transgender “visibility” as examples. Biden, only the second Catholic president, following John F. Kennedy, has actively campaigned for expanded abortion rights, gay marriage, and “gender-affirming care,” all of which his Church opposes. Cardinal Gregory suggested on Face the Nation on Sunday that Biden is selectively picking and choosing which parts of Catholicism he will embrace based on the Democrat platform.

A bird flu pandemic could be '100 times worse than Covid' and kill up to half of everyone it infects, experts have warned — as the White House says it is 'monitoring' the situation. Speaking at a briefing, virus researchers said the H5N1 strain of bird flu may now be getting 'dangerously close' to triggering a pandemic. Multiple cases of the infection in a variety of mammals, including cows, cats and, more recently, humans, are all raising the risk of the virus mutating to become more transmissible, they said.
