D.C. Cardinal Slams Joe Biden as ‘Cafeteria Catholic’

Original Article

Washington, D.C., Cardinal Wilton Gregory slammed President Joe Biden on Sunday for being a “cafeteria Catholic,’’ picking and choosing what doctrines he wants to believe in; he cited the president’s support for “abortion rights” and transgender “visibility” as examples. Biden, only the second Catholic president, following John F. Kennedy, has actively campaigned for expanded abortion rights, gay marriage, and “gender-affirming care,” all of which his Church opposes. Cardinal Gregory suggested on Face the Nation on Sunday that Biden is selectively picking and choosing which parts of Catholicism he will embrace based on the Democrat platform.

I'm kind of impressed. I had Gregory figured as an affirmative action hire but here he makes sense.

Popes don't pick affirmative action bishops /cardinals. Even half of those chosen have different outlook on how to be a bishop than the pope.

Cardinal Gregory indicates joe's faith is sincere; I respectfully disagree.I also don't think he's a "cafeteria" Catholic. That would assume that he'd hold to at least one of its tenets. Few people go to a cafeteria and choose nothing from the line. IF he follows any of the tenets it would be those that are politically expedient for him at the time but then quickly jettisoned when no longer required by the circumstances. Expediency, thy name is joe. His life is driven by it.

Gee. I guess it's good that the Archbishop states the obvious. But Biden was promoting those views prior to the 2020 election snd I didn't hear this Archbishop mention any concerns back then.

1. Bishops are chosen mostly for their diplomatic skills. 2. He wasn't cardinal until after the election. 3. Propley needed to see how Biden was going to do as president. Even I as a critic of slow joe couldn't imagine him being so cruel to religion.

Biden is well beyond cafeteria Catholic. .He is in a position of power and actively promotes issues that are against Church teaching. He is giving scandal daily and the Church is silent. He should be publicly excommunicated.

The fact that the Church has been silent for so long on these matters is troubling. Fact is seven Popes, since the playboy Kennedys were thrown out of the Court of St James for molesting the Nazi spies in Chamberlains, cabinet until this animated meat puppet installed in the Whitehouse known for molesting children(his own as well as others) have said nothing about our fake Catholics. Nothing is likely to change under Pope Franky the Commie.

Gregory's statement actually surprised me. Up until now, he was treating Biden like the devout Catholic he claimed to be. I guess Joe crossed a line even Gregory wouldn't cross. Better late than never, I guess, but Biden should be denied Holy Communion.

Wilton Gregory is part of the Lavender Mafia. I am suspicious of everything he says. If you check his background, it is spotty at best. There must be a reason (that benefits him) to speak out against Joe Biden. Not buying this.

Iran has said that the US must bear "responsibility" after an airstrike on the Iranian consulate in Damascus, Syria. Two of Iran's most senior military commanders were killed – Mohammad Reza Zahedi, a senior commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps' (IRGC) elite Quds Force, and Mohammad Hadi Haji Rahimi, a deputy commander in the Quds Force. Israel has not commented on the strike but is widely believed to be responsible having carried out numerous strikes similar to this one in the region. But Iran has warned that the US must also be held accountable despite the fact Washington has said it played no role in the attack.

Israel is set to block Al Jazeera after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu branded it a "terror channel" that spreads false information. The Israeli government has now passed a new law that would allow the closure of the Qatar-owned news broadcaster. It is thought Netanyahu's decision to block the channel could affect relations with Qatar, which is playing a crucial role in trying to stop the war in Gaza. The broadcaster responded strongly to Netanyahu's claims, calling them a "dangerous, ludicrous lie", and saying he would be held accountable for the safety of its staff and offices.

Some of this is due to the app’s growth rate, but it’s also a strategy. It’s not just that TikTok is growing quickly, but today half of TikTok users say they get their news through it. There are few more joyous places for a Christian at Easter than northern Europe's tallest and largest Gothic cathedral in the city of Cologne.[SNIP] Perhaps we should not be surprised. In Britain, Windsor Castle hosted its first Iftar last week, with permission from King Charles, the Supreme Governor of the Church of England. Guests feasted on coconut milk and dates in the grounds before a private tour of the State apartments. Westminster Abbey, meanwhile – a Christian site for over 1,000 years – flew the national flag of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, with the Muslim crescent and star, to mark 'Pakistan Day'.
