A leading green energy trade group whose members include Chinese companies lobbied the White House in a bid to stave off potentially stiffer tariffs targeting Chinese solar companies.
The Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) pushed the White House to boost its support for domestic solar manufacturers as part of a gamble to to weaken calls for even more stringent tariffs from American companies, according to Bloomberg News. The efforts attempted to preempt petitions that could lead to new or strengthened protections for the American industry, the outlet reported.

On Thursday, presumptive GOP nominee Donald Trump revealed outside a Manhattan courtroom that his campaign is planning a massive campaign rally at Madison Square Garden and the South Bronx as Trump continues to campaign in the Empire State.
"And I think we have a good chance of winning New York. We're going to give it a big play," Trump explained. "We're going to go to the South Bronx to do a rally and we're going to do a rally at Madison Square Garden. We'll be honoring the people who make New York work. We're honoring a lot of people. Former White House attorney Ty Cobb said he is “almost certain” former President Trump’s federal election interference case won’t be tried before the November election, after the Supreme Court heard arguments related to it Thursday.
“So, I think it benefits Trump in the sense that it’s almost certain that this case will not get tried before the election, in my view. Nonetheless, we can draw some conclusions.Israel's small volley of missiles hit their intended targets, to the point of zeroing in on the very launchers designed to stop such incoming ordnance.
The target was near the Natanz enrichment facility. That proximity was by design. Israel showed Iran it could take out the very anti-missile battery designed to thwart an attack on its nearby nuclear facility.
The larger message sent to the world was that Israel could send a retaliatory barrage at Iranian nuclear sites with reasonable assurances.

President Biden’s approval rating average is lower than any other president in recent history at the same point in their time in the White House, data released Friday found.
The president averaged 38.7 percent job approval in his 13th quarter in office, which ran from Jan. 20 to April 19, according to averages aggregated by Gallup. In the same quarter, former President Trump had a 46.8 percent approval rating average; former President Obama’s was 45.9 percent and former President George W. Bush’s was 51 percent, according to Gallup.
The second-lowest to Biden’s in that time was former President George H.W. Bush, who had a 41.8 percent mark.
