The Associated Press (AP) admitted Friday that this week’s indictment of 18 Arizona Republicans is “part of a campaign” to “deter” Republicans from raising challenges and concerns about the integrity of the 2024 election.
Democratic Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes indicted 18 individuals, 11 of whom she claims acted illegally when they convened as alternate electors to certify the Arizona election in favor of Donald Trump while challenges to the tight election’s initial results were ongoing.
Under the headline “Charges against Trump’s 2020 ‘fake electors’ are expected to deter a repeat this year,” AP’s Nicholas Riccardi wrote the indictment of 18 people “could help shape the landscape of challenges

A major witness in former President Donald Trump’s so-called “hush-money” trial admitted to inconsistencies in his previous testimony and suggested that a related FBI report “could be wrong.”
Former National Enquirer publisher David P*cker, who has testified in the case this week, was questioned by Trump attorney Emil Bove about statements he made to federal prosecutors in 2018 that the defense lawyer said were “inconsistent” with the former publisher’s testimony earlier this week.
The Trump team pointed out discrepancy between Mr. P*cker’s testimony this week and 2018 FBI interview. This week, the witness testified President Trump thanked him for handling two stories in a 2017 meeting at the Trump Tower.

Conservative states across the country—Florida, Iowa, Louisiana, Tennessee, Georgia, and Oklahoma—are taking border security matters into their own hands, proposing or passing legislation targeting illegal immigration.
The Oklahoma legislature just passed a bill designed to prohibit illegal immigrants from entering or living in the state.
HB 4156 states: “A person commits an impermissible occupation if the person is an alien and willfully and without permission enters and remains in the State of Oklahoma without having first obtained legal authorization to enter the United States

Biden’s Department of Justice (DOJ) argued Thursday before the Supreme Court that droning American citizens is permissible because Obama’s DOJ said so, whereas questioning election results isn’t OK because the government also says so.
The Supreme Court heard arguments on the scope of presidential immunity after special counsel Jack Smith alleged that former President Donald Trump should be tossed in jail for questioning the administration of the 2020 election.

I’m catching up on perspectives from the talking head class about the ridiculous “hush money” legal case in New York City. As I watched the review by Jonathan Turley, I noticed the video caught someone on the livestream. For those who do not know, the guy circled coming out of the courtroom is Norm Eisen, one of the primary architects of the Lawfare attack scheme. Eisen, Mary McCord and Andrew Weissmann construct the motions, briefings and legal strategies for the various state and federal prosecutions in DC, New York and Georgia.
Remember these specific names: Mary McCord, Norman Eisen and Andrew Weissmann,

If you have followed law and politics for any length of time, you have probably heard of “speaking indictments.” That’s where the prosecution will write an indictment or court motion with very granular -yet perhaps not pertinent- details of a case against a suspect that highlights a much bigger picture than a singular perspective against the individual defendant.(snip)
In the Special Counsel Jack Smith constructed Lawfare case against Donald Trump, what is generally called “the documents case”, involving the raid on Mar-a-Lago, President Trump’s attorney, Christopher Kise, did something similar to a speaking indictment with an extensive court motion on January 16, 2024.

This is not going to be a surprise for regular CTH readers; however, Politico is outlining how a group of Lawfare ideologues meet every Friday to discuss their constructed legal filings and the next week of attack angles against President Donald Trump.
In essence, the core group inside the meeting are what Christine Blasey-Ford called the “beach friends” when discussing who constructed the legal avenues for the ridiculous attack against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.
As we have noted for the past several years, it’s this same group of Lawfare ideologues,

A federal judge overseeing former President Donald Trump’s classified documents case unsealed a new trove of documents on Monday, revealing the FBI’s code name for the investigation and how the FBI spoke about performing “loose surveillance” on the former president’s aircraft before an unprecedented raid in 2022.
The name, “Plasmic Echo,” was revealed in unredacted court filings that were made public by U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon. A February 2022 case file that was attached was marked with, “[Redacted] PLASMIC ECHO; Mishandling of Classified or National Defense Information.” Notably, the FBI has used unusual names for prior investigations such as Crossfire Hurricane, Varsity Blues, Tin Panda, and Lemon-Aid.

After the Alabama Supreme Court ruled frozen human embryos should be treated with care, corporate media spent months lambasting in vitro fertilization critics and advocating for killing the embryos at adults’ leisure. Outlets’ tunes, however, changed this week when stories began to circulate about Israel allegedly destroying the “majority of Gaza’s frozen embryos.” Reuters published an article, video segment, and podcast last week lamenting a December airstrike it says destroyed an estimated 4,000 frozen embryos in

The Supreme Court agreed on April 22 to consider the Biden administration’s rule regulating so-called ghost guns that can be assembled at home.
Oral arguments in the high-profile case are likely to take place in the fall.
In October 2023, the Supreme Court reinstated the rule, which lower courts had enjoined.“Ghost gun” is a pejorative term used by gun control advocates to describe a homemade firearm that lacks a serial number and therefore can’t be tracked by law enforcement.
Although some states regulate homemade guns, gun control groups have been trying for years to ban or regulate homemade guns at the federal level but have failed to persuade the U.S. Congress to act.

You know when Ken Griffin is doing sketchy anti-Trump stuff by the response from Ken Griffin.
Remember, this is the vulture capitalist and Citadel hedge fund operator of horrible Robin Hood infamy who was going to lose billions because the Reddit community fought back against Griffin’s short position on GameStop.
In essence, what Griffin is doing now is shorting the Trump stock he doesn’t control or borrow against. He’s naked shorting the Trump media stock, which is illegal and seriously unethical. Devin Nunes, CEO of Truth Social, has tracked the available stock and notes; there is no way for Citadel and
