The Department of Veteran Affairs has rescinded a memo banning the iconic J-V Day Times Square kiss photo from its buildings.
VA Secretary Denis McDonough was forced to deny the photo's ban after a leaked memo signed by undersecretary RimaAnn O. Nelson began making the rounds online.
'Let me be clear: This image is not banned from VA facilities - and we will keep it in VA facilities,' McDonough said on Twitter.
When pressed by DailyMail.com, the VA admitted the memo was sent out late last month but had since been rescinded.
The memo instructed employees to 'promptly remove' the image and replace it with one deemed less offensive.

Yeah, it's obviously non-consensual. You can tell by the way she's drumming her fists on his face, scratching his eyes out! Outrageous.

These people are utterly, bizzarely, insanely sick. One of the most iconic sweet photos of the war deemed inappropriate is beyond belief.

They have interviewed that woman, and, like everyone else, she was ecstatic that the war was over. She didn't mind that guy kissing her at all.
So if she didn't mind, why should a bunch of woke government bureaucrat idiots care?!?!?!?!?
Lie-Beralism is a very, very serious and dangerous mental condition!!! Bring back the insane asylums instead of giving them high-ranking government jobs!!!!!

OK, I get it. I just noticed the picture of Undersecretary RimaAnn O. Nelson. Fat, ugly, and probably a lesbian. No sailor, no matter how excited about the end of the war or how drunk, would have touched her with a 10-foot pole.
Jealousy, pure and simple!!!

Looking at the picture of Undersecretary RimaAnn O. Nelson who penned the memo I see a frustrated harpy who never got kissed like that.

One of the Mail commentors: "RimaAnn has never been kissed. Except from Hershey’s by the bagful it looks like."
She's the Assistant Under Secretary for Health for Operations - what in the world is that? When the government shuts down is she considered "essential"? Last line o fthe memo: "Should you have any questions...please contact Lelia Jackson, Director of the Assault and Harrassment Prevention Office..." This, while illegal immigrants are prioritized over vets for housing and health care.

Less offensive? Maybe the sailor kissing a male soldier. That wouldn't just pis off 1% of the population, but 99% of it.

I can think of much better ways "to foster a more trauma-informed environment" in Times Square today than revisiting one of the classic end-of-war photos of WWII.

But they are fine with celebrating B-J day instead, I bet.
I'm sure glad I never had to resort to the VA for medical care, despite being qualified to receive it.

A friend of mine is a Vietnam vet and retired physician. He has told everyone he would rather die on the side of the road than in a VA hospital.

Better watch out or the New York Legislature will go back and pass a law to allow her family to retroactively sue his family for sexual assault. The law will only cover Non Consensual kisses, hugging or other contact that occurred on V-day by members of the US Armed Forces returning from war. This photo will be exhibit #1. The US Navy will owe her family millions for allowing such behavior.

I forgot to add, AG Letetia James will also sue the US armed forces for their history of conspiracy to commit systematic sexual harassment, conspiracy to commit systematic non consent touching/kissing, conspiracy to commit systematic sexism, Conspiracy to Not treat Women as Women by treating them like Men by expecting them to do the same things as men, and a whole bunch of other silly charges based on a picture from the 1940's.

Who will the picture trigger? Gay males, lesbians? Only people obsessed with being offended are aware that this was a photo of someone kissing someone they didn't know. I always thought that it was a photo of a sailor kissing his girlfriend when he came back from the war. If the PC Police didn't make such a scene, 99.999% of the people would not be aware that this is an innocent "stolen kiss". Of course, today it is called as sexual assault by the man hating crowd and perpetually offended.

My city has a 25ft statue of that on the bay front, next to the USS Midway. Its called “Embracing Peace” and people come from all over just to take pictures with it.

How long before they say that the Iwo Jima flag raising has to put the LGBTQ+ flag instead of the flag of the country.

The VA has been woke for a long time, and its been a joke among employees. They've been using idiotic pronouns in their official letterhead for several years now, and when seeking treatment they have a whole list of gay questions. A nurse told me most patients tell them its none of their business. I'm sure the picture would have been acceptable if it was two guys kissing.
Like every other federal agency, the top is packed with political appointees who have no idea what the agency does and dont much care. Just more incompetent ideologues.

Obviously some fat, ugly, green haired biddies that can only wish a real man would grab them and plant one on ‘em. Jealousy is ugly itself.

Yet another government employee who gets paid to do stupid things.
I suspect that was not the only member of the military that the woman kissed that day.
